At the annual commencement exercises by the students of Wingham High School, scholar- ships were presented to Alice Laidlaw; Mac Eadie, Bodie Craig and William Johnston. Field Day athletic awards were won by James Cummins,, John Hanna, Keith Anderson, Janet Gerrie, Mary Smith and Annette Camp- bell. John Hanna was named the best athlete in the school. Alice Laidlaw was valedictorian. Through the combined efforts of the Women's Missionary Society, the Sunday School and members of the congregation, the Gerrie United Church Sunday School has a new projector. Next Sunday they will see the Christ- mas story in picture form through the use of their new ma- chine. Ivan McArter has been named Road Superintendent by mem- bers of Morris Township Council, at a salary of 75 cents per hour plus $10.00 per month for book- keeping. Wingham turned in $725. from the sale of Christmas seals up to December 19.
