Turned out the show was a 'Meet the wives' night and he explained it was a show similar to that show that won an Emmy for him last season. Big deal! Emmys must have been cheap! That is hardly a great example of the finest he has to offer. So one by one, he introduces these lovely little beauties Mrs. Johnny Carson, Mrs. Bing Crosby, Mrs. Dean Martin, the ex Mrs. Dick Martin, Mrs. Sammy Davis, Mrs. Stuart Whitman and Mrs. George Hamilton. And one by one, ,they rave about how `great', `terrific', 'fantastic', `super', `lovable' and 'charming' their `gorgeous' husbands are. But, since they married the cads, you'd hope they would think they were all these things. Even Dolly (Reed) Martin, in the process of divorcing her funnyman mate, Dick (of "Laugh -In" fame), kept saying how fantastic he was. Sounded a bit offbeat for a gal heading for the divorce courts.
