On Friday evening White-
church Women's Institute held its
family pot luck supper in the
community hall. There were
around 25' in attendance due to
the stormy weather, slippery and
icy roads.
Mr. and Mrs. Fred Davis and
Dana of Windsor were visitors

gave the devotions and led in the
Litany and prayers. The mem-
bers answered the roll call with a
verse on Remembrance.
Mrs. Harold Foster reported on
the bale she had sent to. Big Trout
Lake and read a letter of thanks
from Rev. Allen Hartley. The
nominating committee presented
the slate of officers for the com-
ing year.
Mrs. Sothern read a letter from
Paul Rice concerning the support.

Mrs: Ruby Foster gave •a read-
ing, "Jane's Christmas Eve",
and a reading, "High Cost of Liv-
ing", was given by Mrs. Peter
Browne. The members will cater
to the nursing home banquet in
December and will serve one
meal for the Youth Conference
being held at Christ Anglican
Church, Listowel.
Mrs. E. Ferguson gave an out-
line of the Deanery meeting held
in St. Thomas' Church, Walker-
ton.
Slides of the north, shown by
Mrs. Parker, were the highlight
of the evening. She told of her
stay this past summer at Cape
Dorset and Frobisher Bay, and
the customs of the Eskimos
there.
.One of the slides showed the
sun coming up and the moon go-
ing down with about 23 hours of
daylight in the month of July.
Mrs. Parker said the people of
the north live a quiet and easy life,
. without the hustle and bustle like
the people of our area. Hunting
and . fishing are their chief oc-
cupations.
