Nursing Home, Harriston, on
Tuesday, October 22, Walter
Davisson of Garde, in his 90th
year.
Mr. Davisson was born in Dub-
lin, Ireland, on October 21, 1885, a
son of the late Adolph Davisson,
and Elizabeth McGraw. An
extremely knowledgeable and
well-read gentleman, he was a
freelance journalist during much
of his life. He has resided in the
village of Gorrie for the past
three or four years.
• Surviving are his wife, the
former Eleanor Redfern, and two
daughters, WO. R. D. (Barbara)
•Hudson of Birmingham, Ala-
bama, and Mrs. William (Lillian)
Pearce of Ottawa.
The late Mr. Davisson rested at
the MOir Funeral Home, Gorrie,
where Rev. Wesley Ball con-
ducted -service . Friday at two
o'clock. Interment followed in-
Gorrie Cemetery.

A lifelong ,resident of Grey
Township, Gordon Robinson Holt
of .RR 2, Bluevale, died in the
• Wingham and' District Hospital
on Friday, October 25, following a
brief illness. He was in his 79th
year.
Born in Grey Township on May
30, 1896, Mr. Holt was ason of the
late William Holt and Catherine
Robinson. He was educated in
Grey and farmed there all his
adult life. He was a member of
the Bluevale United Church.
Surviving are Ids wife, the
former Evelyn Jean Campbell,
whom he married July 1,1942, in
McKillop Township; one daugh-
ter, Mrs. Raymond (Ann) Hogg
of Wingham; one brother, Aldine
Holt of RR 2, Bluevale; and one
sister, Mrs. Leslie (Evelyn) Mc-
Donald of Lambeth.
The late Mr. Holt rested at the
R. A. Currie and Son Funeral
Home where service was con-
ducted Monday at two o'clock by
Rev. Barry Passmore. Interment
followed in Wroxeter Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Harold
Robinson and Lorne Robinson of
Gorrie, Jeffery Robinson of St.
Marys, Fred Hayden of Bluevale,
Walter Hamilton of Listowel and
Elgin Hogg of VP/Ingham.
Floral tributes were carried to
the graveside by Allan Campbell
of Winthrop, Bill Campbell of
Seaforth, BM Thames. of Walton
and John McInnes, Wingham.

Chapter 429, Order of the Eastern
Star, conducted a service at 8
p.m. on Friday evening at the
funeral honle.
The daughter of Mr. and Mrs,
Robert Sharpin, she was born
April 25,1808 in Ontario. She was
married Deceriber 15, 1923, to
FranciiGeorge Richard Mexson .
who died February 4,1958. They
arrived in Onarga In the early
1930s and she has been a resident
there since that time.
She is survived by one brother,
Morrison Sharpin of Wi;
and two sisters, Mrs. Alice
Taylor of Wingham, and Mrs.
Viola Sanburn of RR 1, Bluevale.
She was predeceased by two
brothers, Alvin in 1947 and Ward
in 1952.
Pallbearers were Harold
Quipp, George nisi' op, Les Jack -
lin, Jack Sanburn, Roy Cluver
and Wes Paulin.
Mrs. Mexson was a member of
the United Methodist Church and
the Onarga Order of the Eastern
Star. She had been worthy
matron in 1955 and again in 1972
and she was presently holding the
office of Esther. She was also a
member of the telephone
committee for the senior citizens
of which she was a very faithful
member.
