Hickey all the way for the league
last week. Shirley's 249 single and
632 triple wereihigh for tbe gals.
Rod had a 287 single and a good
684 triple to make him high man
on the totem pole.

Cub news
Pack A Cubs met at 7 p.m.
Thursday in the Wingham Public
School. The meeting was opened
by Raa, attendance was recorded
and dues taken.
The boys were divided into
groups and went out gathering
and raking leaves as a com-
munity service. The leaves were
taken to the land fill site on High-
way N. .,
'Upon returning to the school,
the boys were given hot chocolate
and cookies, served by the group
com nittee.
The Cubs were told that last

the Wroxeter Masonic Lodge
honored a Boston doctor who has
given 50 years .of service to the -
Brotherhood of Masonry at their
meeting on Monday evening. Dr.
Frank Allan, whose brother, Mac
Allan, lives in Wroxeter and is
also a member. _ of the lodge,
received his 50-year'jewei during
a ceremony conducted . by
Worshipful Master Norman
Fairies and Rt. Worshipful
Brother Gordon Gibson.
Dr. Allan is a Canadian native
but after studying•medicine at
the University of Toronto he went
to the Mayo Clinic in 1225 as a
fellow in medicine. At the
renowned clinic . Dr. Allan
became associated with Dr.
Russell Wilder, a specialist in
diabetes. The Canadian doctor
was no stranger to this once -
dread disease. During his studies
at the U of T Dr. Allan had the
good fortune to be working in the
hospital ward in which a 14 -year-
old boy made a miraculous
recovery from the disease after
Dr. Frederick Banting and
Charles H. Best administered the
first insulin injections given to a
patient in history.
Dr. Allan, since his initial
studies at the Mayo Clinic has
served as the head of the clinic's
diabetes service. He then moved
to Lahey Clinic in Boston to serve
first as co-director of the medical
department and then as director
of internal medicine. He has
served as honorary president of
the New England Diabetic
Association and has published
articles and books on a number of
medical topics.

collecting of,dues, the Brownies
were divided into- two groups.
The new Brownies (Tweenies)
learned the meaning of the
Brownie promise, law and motto,
and heard the Brownie story.
The other Brownies pltlnted
seeds and are keeping a chart on
the development of the seeds.
In powwow tri local birds
were identified and atomised and
the Brownies woe reminded of
the meaning of a good turn.
