Mr. Kalbfleisch, of Hay, is talking
about erecting a grist mill in Bayfield.
He wants the corporation to give him
a bonus of $2000. Bayfield wants a
mill, and they can't get a better .man
than Mr Katbfleisch for the business,
so they should strike a bargain -

Alex. McDougall, Deputy Reeve of
Aldborough, has entered en action
against D. McLaren, ex -Deputy Reeve
of the same township, for $200 damas

tween the parties over the municipal,
elections, and it is alleged that in.
Smith's hotel,, Rodney, the defendant
kicked the plaintiff,. from the effects of
which ho was; laid up for some time,
and he note enters action to' recover
$200 damage.
Against nearly 1,200 changes made
in South Perth by Mr. Sharp, the
Reformers have sent in to the revising
Barrister, all told, 425 names to be
placed on the voters' lists, and ask fete
none to be struck off, One peculiar-
ity of the affair is, that put of the 425'
asked to be put `rho list, 237 of the
number are already on. Of 63 names
sent In for`Mitchell, 42 are 'already on;
leaving just 21 actual appeals. Out of
this number 11 are under age (three of

tion which contained a number of
alleged libels against Mr. Geo. Moir,
of St. Marys, formerly of Exeter.
Friend Moir is ,good natured and can
endure more than an ordinary man,
but when.people go beyond reason-
able bounds, he cannot avoid protest-
ing.
Mrs. Ball, a brideof a week, and a
young son of William Sage were boat-
ing on the latter's pond, at Sweaburg,
the other evening, when the boat was
accidentally upset, throwing the 000u-
pants into the water, which at this
point was deep,Thelittle fellow ow swam
to the boat and
on gaining the top'.

While endeavoring to drive a bull
into a field the other day, the infuriat-
ed'animal became enraged and turning
on its driver, Willie Rate, of Adelaide
township, gored him under the right
shoulder, one of the horns penetrating
the lung, besides bruising him all over
in a frightful manner. He succeeded,
however, in getting away from the en-
rageu brute by:crawling through a fence
and walked towardsthe house. When.
about 40 rods array he was noticed by
Stephen Radcliffe, and carried to the
house. Dr. Bateman, of Adelaide, was
then summoned, as also Dr. Hoare, of
Strathroy, and everything that medi-
cal skill could do was resorted to, but
without success, and death ensued
yesterday afternoon ab 6 o'clock. The
young lad was a bright and intelligent
boy.
Whilst running about the yard last
week, "Charles Cutler," the venerable
steed owned by Mr. A. T. Cutler, of
Imperial hotel, Galt, injured his- hip
bone. Asthere was no hope of his
recovery from the injury, on .Friday it
was decided to put an end to his suf-
ferings. and he was accordingly shot
"Charles Cutler," was so far as known
the oldest horse in Canada. He was
foaled on the 10th of May, 1845, and
was therefore in his 44th year. He
was of Messenger stook, and was as
fine a piece of horse flesh as ever wore
harness. Had be not met with this
accident the '.!Old Grey," might have
lived for a number of years longer.
His vitality was phenominal, and if
there are any other horses rn the coun-
try that have attained to anything
like his age, let. them step up to the
front.
