Doctor in the House
When Liz Neilsonappeared in
front of the curtain and an-
nounced that the leading lady
was ill and needed medical atten-
tion, you could have heard a pin
drop. But there was a sigh of
relief when Dale Edgar and
Robin Brent appeared as doctors,
singing "Let A Doctor Lead the
Way", complete with hats and
canes. The show was on the road
and for three consecutive nights
the laughs poured in. "Doctor In
the Rouse" was a success in
every way.
We had good crowds and excel-
lent response all three nights.
The play drew large enough
crowds to pay for our $400 of
expenses and left us with ap-
proximately $1,000 profit.
I'm extremely pleased with the
results of the Drama Club's pro-
duction this year.
There were 62 members in the
club and many of those were new
faces. It seems as though the
future of the club may be. secure
for at least anoth year.
I would like to ank. all the
wonderful people who helped
make our playa suecess. Your
effort, time and energy bave
made it possible for our school
and the communities of this area
to enjoy three nights of theatre, a
rare luxury in our area.
Thank you once again and
"break -a -leg" next. year.

Band supplies
entertainment
On Thursday, May 9 the
students of F. E. Madill gathered
in the large gymnasium for an
hour of live entertainment.
Guests at the school were the
members of the senior band from
the Park Street Collegiate in
Orillia. The band, playing many
pieces from the 50's and a few
selections from "Chicago", was
directedby Mr. Passfield. A few
of the pieces were accompanied
by a group of daficers, adapting
their steps to the music played.
The band was 'very enjoyableto
listen to and very much ap-
preciated.

SOCCER
' On Tuesday, May 7 both Junior
and Senior soccer teams travel-
led to Seaforth for their second
league games. Scores in the
games were: Seniors,- Madill 0,
Seaforth 3; Juniors, Madill 1,
Seaforth 1.
Tillie score is little indication of
the dewily -played, hard-fought
game. The teams simply didn't
have the lucky breaks that could
have won them the game. It was
felt that the teamplayed well and
put forth a good effort.
s The only Madill goal was
scored by Doug Shiell.
