Bowlers honored
At a recent VBC banquet and
awards night individual bowlers
were honored for various
achievements during the play off.
Tim Stainton, 288, junior
bantam; . David Nesbitt, 379,
bantam and Sheldon Jones 371,
junior were each presented with
trophies for high doubles during
their divisional play. offs.
Nigh play off singles awards
went to Terry Hoy, 171, junior
bantam; ., Scott Cornwall, 187,
bantam and Christine Foxton,
234, junior.
Four bowlers were awarded as
the. most improved bowlers in
their divisions. In the junior
bantam division Blair Mansell
improved his average by 37, in
the bantam division Ken Marks
unproved his average by 24,
Carol Jamieson, in the junior
division increased her average
by 19 and senior Brad Coulter
went up 21 in his average.
Kerry Thompson, Greg Laid-
law, Blair Mansell, Bonnie
Thompson, and Paul Staight all
received gifts for perfect attend-
ance in the junior bantam ranks
while bantams Greg Storey, Jim
Laidlaw, Brian Hoy and junior
Bill Ohm were presented with
perfect attendance gifts for their
divisions.

A temporary executive for the
Wingham and District Snowmo-
bile Association was . formed at a
meeting of interested snowmobil-
ers on April 27th at Lynn Hoy's.
Mae Ritchie and Marvin Streich
of Wingham were named as
representatives of the Wingham
area to attend meetings of the
Bruce Regional Snowmobile
Association.
Later in May, an open meeting
of . all snowmobile owners in
Wingham and the surrounding
area will be held to elect a per-
manent executive and to set up
proposed trails in the township
surrounding Wiitgham.
Due to possible legislation by
July 1, 1074, it may be impossible
to travel on any plowed road in
Ontario. Therefore, it is imper-
ative that marked trails be esta-
blished in this area or
snowmoblie activity will be
severely curtailed.

When we arrived at Brownies
We'played some games. Then we
got into our sixes and collected
the dues (fairy gold).
We got into our circle, sang our
Brownie song and gave our fairy
gold to Brown Owl. We moved to
° r groups and talked about
many interesting things.
Atter that came time for our
powwow. Badges were handed
out to Maureen Beattie and Lisa
i'ullton.
Wo had prayers and -taps, then
wesit home.
SCOUTING NEWS

Our May 1st meeting was
opened with the breaking of the
flag outside the school. We went
inside while Peter Smit and Lyle
Bridge were invested. Scouter
Don took us back outside for
exercises.
After handing in our Bowl-a-
thon money we talked about the
May Oshawa Jamboree in Patrol
Corners. Badges were earned by

Ken McLean, Klaus Jorritsma,
Brent Foxcton, and Scott Mc-
Gregor. The flag was lowered
and the meeting was closed with
the Lord's Ptayer.
