Miss Ahna Conn of Guelph Uni-
versity spent the weekend at her
parental home.

project, "Taking a Look at Your-
self", contact Mrs. Walter El-
liott. Girls trust be '12 years of
age.
Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Milligan
and family were in Streetsville on
the weekend with their daughter,
Mrs. Pat Donnelly, Mr. Donnelly
and family.
. Brian Falconer of Toronto
spent the weekend at Sarnia with
hisparents, Mr. and Mrs. R. Fal-
coner. On Sunday on his way
back to TOrento on the icy roads; •
he called at the home of Mr. and
Mrs. Robert Mowbray.

E. Purdon and Alan Falconer
spent a day last week with Mr.
and Mrs. Angus Falconer of
Strathroy.
Robert Mowbray spent a few
days in London last week visiting
Miss Bertha McKay, Mr. and
Mrs. Kenneth Laidlaw and other
friends.
Due to icy back roads there
were no school buses to any
schools in this vicinity on Mon-
day.
Mr. and Mrs. Roy Dawson,
Arnold and Donna were Sunday
evening guests with Mrs. Isobel
Congram.
Vicki Scott spent Friday eve-
ning with her friend, Donna
Thomson of Highway 86.
Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Jamieson
and family were Sunday evening
visitors with Mr. and Mrs. Roy
Hardy of sixth concession, West
Wawanosh.
A. J. Sutherland and friend of
Woodstock were at Ripley and
Ashfield Presbyterian Churches
on Sunday where Mr. Sutherland,
second -year student of Knox Col-
lege, was in charge of the serv-
ices. On the return home trip they
called on Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd
Murdock at the manse where
Lloyd, a third -year student,
resides. Lloyd is in charge of
Whitechurch and Langside
churches.
Due to the ice storm Mr. awl
Mrs. Dennis Freeman of Blue -
vale and Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd
Murdock did not return to
Toronto until Monday.
Mr. and Mrs. Garnet Farrier
were at Windsor on Thursday and
Friday with Mr. and Mrs. Fared
Davis and Dana.
Mr. and'Mrs. Bill Smyth., Ryan
and Jillian of Cambridge and her
mother, Mrs. Paul Woods of
Whonnock, B.C., were visitors
last week with Mr. and Mrs. Ed
Smyth.

tory was so named by John
Pringle, a Presbyterian minister,
who discovered gold on the creek
and "with hopes" gave it the
name.
