trimmed with poinsettias and

Hardie of Ottawa, niece of the
bride, was attired similarly in
red.

Frank Garvey . of RR 1,
Neustadt, brother of the groom,
was best man. Guests'. were
ushered by Neal Hardie of Listo-
wel, brother of the bride; Mike
Fortney of Kitchener, nephew of
the groom; Norbert Winsberger
and John Roseborough, both of
Walkerton. All male attendants
wOre black tuxedos with . red
carnation, boutonnieres. •
Following the , wedding, a
reception was held at the For.
mora Community 'Centre with,
dancing to .the. "Westernnaires".
A buffet meal was served.
The bride's mother wore a
floor -length dress of violet forbid
with " giver trim. and yellow
carnation corsage. The groom's
mother chose a street length en-
semble of blue crnnpltnit with a
pink carnation corsage. •
Following a honeymoon to
points in the northern USA, the
couple will reside at RR 1, Neu-
stadt. •
The bride is a graduate of St.
Joseph's School of ' Nursing, Lon-
don. •
Out-of-town guests attended
from Ottawa, Toronto, Moosenee,
Mississauga, Guelph, Cam-
bridge, Kitchener, Stratford,
London and Listowel.

visited Sunday with Mr. and Mrs.
Lloyd Montgomery. •
—Mr. and Mrs. Charles Hod-
gins left early. last week for the
.U.S.A. They.. intended to spend
Christmas with family members
in New York State before pro-
ceeding south where they will re-
main for the winter.
—Miss Annie Kennedy was re-
leased from the 'Wingham and
District Hospital. on Thursday
and is nowconvalescing at her
home on Frances Street.

"The Art of Giving" is
"The Art of Giving" was the
theme of 'a Christmas meditation'
givenby Miss Merle Wilson at the
December meeting of the Goforth
Auxiliary of St. Andrew's Pres-
byterian Church. Miss . Wilson
said,'"At the time of the birth of
Christ, gifts of gold, frankincense
and myrrh were offered, but
what would we of this modern
world bring if we were asked `to
bring a gift. to Christ?"
The speaker continuess,, by say-
ing that some could still bring
gold, others" their 'learning, their
strength ,er,-health. Cheerfuln ss
anti `giiving our best to our • ufork
are other gifts we may bring. ,
"But," she concluded, "the
smallest _ gift ' is welcome if it
tomes from the heart and the
best gift of all is a heart that loves
Him."
• The meeting was under the
leadership of Mrs. Harry Bate-
man, using the service of worship
from "The Glad Tidings". Two
Christmas hymns were sung and
Mrs. Robert Armstrong read the
scripture. Mrs. Bateman led
devotions with .the theme "Pro-
phecy Fulfilled". She was as-
sisted by Mrs. Gordon Welwood
and Mrs. Redmond MacDonald.
"God's Unspeakable Gift" was
the topic chosen by Mrs. Bate-
man. "His Gift is Jesus Christ," -
she said, "and no matter what the
circtu stances of life we must
keep in mind who Christ is and we
will be blessed." -
In closing,,Mrs. Bateman said,
"When we have the Christmas
spirit we must pass ifon to others
for many souls are groping in the
darkness." '
The business session was con-
ducted by; the.retiring president
Mrs. Robert McKague, ,;ncf

Mrs. Hazel Purdon spent a few
days during Christmas week' with
Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Rintoul of

and sons spent the weekend with
her father, Sherwood Taylor of

Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Gerald
Wright are residing in Wingham
following their marriage in the
Teeswater United Church on Fri-
day, November 30, at 7:30 p.m.
Rev: Arnold Proud performed the
ceremony amid a setting of
candelabra with white daisies
and orange candles. Mrs. Freda
Colvin, organist, accompanied
Miss Ruth Whitehead who sang
- "The Wedding Prayer" and "The
Twelfth of Never".
Mrs. Wright is the former
Gladys Joan Stewart, daughter of
Mr. and. Mrs. Donald Stewart of
Teeswater. Parents of the groom
are Mr. and Mrs. JiM Wright of
Wingham.
Given in marriage by her
father, the bride chose a gown of.
white polyester satin, styled on
empire lines and trimmed with
bead -centered daisies. A detach-
able chapel -length train was at-
" tached to the gown and she wore
an elbow -length veil. She carried
a bouquet of white daisies around
which orange velvet ribbon was
intertwined.
Miss Gail Seers of Auburn was
maid of honor. She wore a floor -
length empire -styled gown of
polyester crepe in shades of
orange and brown. She carried a
basket of dried flowers. In
similar ensembles were the
bridesmaids, Miss Janet White-
head, Miss Nancy MacDonald
and Miss Patti Stewart all of
Teeswater.
Barry Hogg of Gorrie was best
man and guests were ushered by
Jack Ross and Gordon Wright of
Turnberry Township and Roc
Stewart of Teeswater.
A reception followed in the
Teeswater Town hall. Receiving
guests, the bride's mother wore a
' floor-1`ength pink gown with a cor-
sage of pink sweetheart roses.
The mother of the groom chose a
blue streetlength dress with a
corsage of white sweetheart
roses.
For her wedding trip, the bride
donned a yellow turtle -neck
sweater with brown plaid slacks,"
brown blazer and a corsage Of
yellow sweetheart roses ° The
bride is a graduate of the Wing -
ham and District Hospital Train-
ing Centre.
An honored guest at the wed-
ding was the bride's great grand-
mother, Mrs. Annie Harmer of
