tized Andrea Marie.
The Psalm and scripture „were
read by Susan , Hart. Janet de
Boer accompanied the organist
Mrs. A. Edwin Martin on the
piano for the preludes, offeratory
and postludes. Thechoir render-
ed the anthem "The Song of
Christmas" and a folk song en-
titled "When Lights Are Lit on
Christmas Eve".
Rev. George Sach chose "The
Greatest Gift at Christmas" for
the theme of his sermon. He told
of his first Christmas in Asia. In
the midst of a Moslem land he
found there were no presents, no
Christmas trees or cards and no
peace.
We can look back through the
narrow passages of time and im-
agine Mary holding the holy Babe
• and Joseph smiling happily. We
can almost hear the -songs of the
angels.
God's supreme gift to mankind
was Jesus made flesh at that first
Christmas. Scientists may ex-
plore the depths of the oceans and
the retches of space but no man
can unfold the mystery of the
manger: -The words, glory be to
God in the highest, become our
hope.
Even people's, despair 'can be-
come glorified when they think of
the birth in the manger.
Christmas should be a time of
revitalization and hope for the
worldworld We should acknowledge
Jesus
,
our Saviour.
On Friday evening the annual
Christmas concert was held in
the Sunday School Room. The
- numbers were delivered well and
the usual treats were distributed
to the Sunday School children at
the end of the evening.
