Weekend visitors with Mrs. Care of bees Wi subject LAKELET — Care and han- dling of bees was the subject dis- cussed by Paul Higgins when the Lakelet WI entertained the Greenbush WI at their October meeting. Mr. Higgins, using slides, discussed equipment used, winter care, diseases affecting bees, plants that attract bees, damage done by vandals, ex- tracting and processing of honey. He had on display liquid, creamed and comb honey. Mrs. Lloyd Jacques thanked Mr. Hig- gins and presented him with a gift. A community meeting is called for October ' 12 in the W.I. Hall to discuss the spending of the Bike- a-thon money raised by Lakelet. 'Mrs. Allan is to convene the cutting of the pyjama material for the Children's Aid Society. Miss ,Joan Jackson , from Greenbush entertained with. two very, enjoyable solos and Miss Barbara Harkness favored with two accordion numbers. Mrs. H. Judge, discussing the motto "What counts is not the hours you work but what you put. into each hour", read two poems, "The Best of Whatever You Are" and • "Always Finish". The main item on the agenda was the new project of tights in the ball park: The lights,- have been purchased but now remains the problem of putting them up.
