Open house .held for weekend bride
WHITECHURCH — On Satur-
day afternoon and evening Mrs.
Bill Rintoul; held, open house fqr
her daughter, Doris; bride-to-be
of September 2nd.
Receiving the 'guest's with Mrs
Rintoul and Doris was the
groom's mother. Mrs R' y
Robinson. The guest book was
then signed by about 100 guests.
Displaying wedding gifts,
shower gifts, hope _ chest and
trousseau were Mrs. Terry Rut-
ledge, Linda Snowden, Mrs. Gor-
don Campbell, Gayle Rintoul,
Mrs. Roger Bieman, Mrs.

—About 26` members of the
Wingham Women's Institute en-
joyed a bus trip to Goderich last
Thursday when they toured sev-
eral places of interest. They left
Wingham at about 10 a.m.. re-
turning home during the heavy
rain in the evening.
—Mr. and Mrs Rowland Ral-
lagh spent Saturday at Niagara
Fails, returning home via Hamil-
ton and visiting with Mr. and
Mrs. John Clark and sons on Sun-
day.
—Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Streich
were hosts on Sunday for the
annual MacPherson family re=
union. About 35 family members
attended, from St. Thomas, Sud-
bury, Ingersoll, Strathroy, Lon-
don, Glencoe, Shedden and Port
Huron.

Although the Wingham Day
Care Centre will have been in
operation three days by Friday,
September 8th, it has been de-
cided it would be the6best evening
for an "open night" and official
opening ceremonies, it was an-
nounced by Reeve Jack Alex-
ander, chairman of the centre
committee.
The open night is slated to con-
tinue from 7:30 to 9:30 that even,
ing, and conducted tours of the
facilities will be available to the
general public. Coffee and light
refreshments will be served.
Invitations are being extended.

MRS. MARSHA EBERHARDT, RIR 2, Bluevale, has joined
the staff of Wingham Day Care Centre as an assistant to the
director, Mrs. Lawrence Lane. She took up her duties this
'week and is seen as she helped preparb the facilities for
open its day,. September 5. Mrs. Eberhardt has a son Erin,
-20 months old, was previously employed at the Callander
Nursing Home and is a former resident of Kitchener.
