GORRIE — A family shower
was held on Saturday afternoon
for Larke Carson, bride-to-be, at
the home of Mrs. Irving Toner,
Gorrie. Assisting Mrs. Toner
were Mrs. Alex Taylor and Mrs.
Art Gibson.
As the guests arrived, they
were given aage to complete, to
be used in a book for Larke. The
bride -elect, Mrs.' Carson and
Mrs. McDonald were presented
with corsages and seated under
an arch artistically decorated
with fresh flowers and stream-
ers.
• Mrs. Wilmur Ross of Preston
read an address expressing the
best wishes of all present. As the
gifts were opened, Colleen, and
Peggy Carson made a colorful lei
from the bows.
Larke expressed her thanks for
such , lovely and useful gifts.
Everyone . enjoyed. lunch and a
social time together.

the. Fair" competition at the

CNE -Sweetheart of all Ontario
Fairs.
This contest is the first of its
kind to be held in the 94 -year his-
tory of the Canadian National
Exhibition. M

competed in this year's contest.

' On June 30th, 19'72, the Ontario` Legislature appointed
a Select Committee to examine, inquire into and report upon
the Ontario Municipal Board and to make recommendations
on: (a) the purpose, object and functions of the Ontario
Municipal Board. (b) the jurisdiction of the Ontario Muni-
cipal Board (c) the structure - and organization' of the On-
tario Municipal Board. (d) the procedures and practices of
the Ontario Municipal Board. (e) the procedures by way of
appeal from the orders and rulings of the Ontario Municipal
Board, including appeals by way of petitions to the Lieuten.
