Funeral service was held
Thursday of last week for Harry
Hubert Town of 148 Carling Ter-
race, Wingham. Rev. Barry
Passmore conducted the 2 p.m.
service which was held at the S.
J. Walker Funeral Home in
Wingham. Interment followed in
Wroxeter Cemetery.
Mr. Town died suddenly in Kin-
cardine on Monday, August 14th,
following a heart attack. He was
73 years of age:
Born in Wingham, a son of the
late George and Lute Town, he
Was educated in Wroketer and
Wingham and employed for
many years by Western Foundry.
e He retired five years ago.
Mr. Town was a veteran of both
World Wars, serving from 1916 to
1918 with the 161st Battalion and'
from 1940 to 1946 with the Elgin
Regiment. He was a member of
Wingham Branch 180 of the Royal
Canadian Legion and a member
of Sr, Paul's Anglican Church.
In 1920 he married the former
Myrtle M. Lockridge in Wing -
ham. She predeceased him - Feb-
ruary 21, 1970. He was also prede-
ceased by one son, George R.

Surviving are two daughters,
Mrs. -Lloyd (Jean) Elliott of
Wingham and Mrs. Mary Louise
H•elesic of Kitchener; one sister,
Mrs. Jean Smith of Detroit, one
brother, George L. Town of Chat-" V
ham and eight grandchildren.
A Royal Canadian Legion serv-
ice was conducted by members of
Branch 180 Wednesday evening
at the funeral home. The late Mr.
Town was carried to his final
resting place by Doug Aitchison, -
Don Adams, Ken Sinnamon, Glen
Sinnamon, 'John Strong and Ken
Simmons. Flower bearers were 4
three grandsons; Robert, Gordon
and Peter Town of Owen Sound.
