championship in the Perth -Huron meet held here Friday
afternoon. Trophy symbolic of the championship is seen in
the foreground. Individual championships were won by
Bruce Melick, junior boys; Goderich; Mary deBruyn, inter-
mediate girls, Wingham; John Crawford, senior boys,
Kingsbridge; Gordon Kinahan, intermediate boys, Wing -

Sacred Heart Separate, School
of Wingham took top place by
healthy margin in the four -school
athletic meet here Friday, piling
up an aggregate of 302 points to
beat a strong Kingsbridge at 252,
Goderich, 164 and Clinton 83. The
scoring used a handicapping sys-
tem based on school size.
- Wingham also shone in the
intermediate sections, with Mary
DeBruyn of Sacred Heart taking
the individual intermediate
championship for girls • and Gor-
don Kinahan taking ;top place in
the -same division for the 'boys.
Liz Lassaline of Clinton took
first place for senior girls with
Karen Richey runner-up. John
Crawford of Kingsbridge was top
senior boy with Michael Davis
second; - 'Donna Drennan of
Kingsbridge was top junior girl
followed by Ann DeBruyn of
Wingham; Bruce Melick of
Goderich topped the junior boys
with Peter Van Dyke second.

BELMORE - The 4-H Saddle
Tramps held their second meet-
ing on June 17th at Teeswater.
Twelve members were present at
.the fair, grounds, ten bringing
horses. - Welcome was expressed
to a new member, Debbie Culbert
'Of Mildmay.
The first half of the meeting
was spent improving riding, walk
and trot, both with and without
stirrups. Plans were made for the
next regular meeting to be held
on July 29th in the form of a trail
ride. It was also decided to hold
two meetings between the regu-
lar' meetings to improve riding
skills, the first on July 4t&at Bel -
more, The second will be at the
home of Mrs. Smith to hear a
veterinarian speak.
Plans are also being made to
have a demonstration on western
games riding some time during
July. As yet plans are indefinite.
The members mounted again
and were taught control of their
horses by , riding over Doles
placed on the grolind. •
