Students do well in
regional games day
The Invitalional Games Day
for Region 11 of the Ontario
Association for the Mentally
Retarded which was held in Exe-
ter on Saturday, proved to be a
decided success. The weather co-
operated to make a very pleasant
day which started with a parade
at 10:30 a:m. Participants were
from schools, graduates from the
schools and adult workShops
from the towns of St. Marys, Exe-
ter, Goderich, Wingham and
Palmerston Midwestern Child-
ren's Centre. The parade was
acCompanied by bands and
mgjorettes.
The YACMR group from Wing -
ham arranged for the Teeswater
Highland Band and the Wingham
Majorettes, which added .gre
to the festivity. They were spon-
sored hy tbe ,_'.reesyvater.,
ham and Lucknow Lions Clubs a

The parade started from the
James Street United Church and
continued to the Exeter second,

and Exeter Associations, were.

events included 50 -yard dash, 100 -
yard dash, ball throw, high jump
and -broad jump. It was com-
pulsory to try in four areas and
participants had to be 11 years or
over. .

Credit goes to Mrs. Harold Wild

recreational committee for
Region 11 for overall arrange-
ments for this special event. She
was assisted by Lauretta Siegnor
of Exet2r as sub -chairman, as
well as those mentioned before.
A banquet was Served at 4:30 at
the James Street United Church
under the direction. of Mrs. Cann
of Exeter. Mrs. Wild presented
the trophies -at th'e
