BELGRAVE — The ninth
meeting of 'the Junior Auxiliary
was held in the Orange Hall on
Saturday morning from 9:45 to
11:30.

went to the Belgrave Anglican
church to practise for their
enrollment exercises.
_Susan Mathers was welcomed
to the .Auxiliary. They all
returned to the Orange Hall to
close the meeting. \

transport passengers and mail on

Mrs. Eldon Renwick is staying
a few days with her son-in-law.
Cecil Horton and children, while
her daughter, Mrs. Horton, is a
patient in Stratford General Hos-
pital where she is undergoing
surgery.

took part in the Achievement
Day. "Sleepwear" held at
Howick Central Public School.
Two girls, Sharon Ducharme of
HR 2. Brussels, a member of
Crantwook 1 Club; and Jan
Thomas of Listowel, a member of
Ethel 1 Club, received Provincial
Honor Certificates and pins for
the completion of 12 -projects.

BELMORE — The May meet-
ing of the United Church Women,
was held at the home of Mrs: Carll
Fitch last Wednesday. Mrs.
Harry Mulvey was in charge of
the opening devotions which she
took from The Upper Room. The
scripture reading from Hebrews
10 was followed by prayer.
Mrs. Dora McGuinness gave. a
reading from a book by Henry
Drummond, a 19th century
scientist, which dealt with the
true purpose of man's existence
here on earth and what each indi-
vidual's aim in life should be.
The roll call was answered by
11 ladies.
Mrs. Bill Mulvey conducted a
study session on the first three
gospels of the New Testament.
The minutes were- read and
adopted. The president, Mrs.
John Rutherford. gave an ad-
vance announcement of a special
church week in October, to be
marked especially by a meeting
in Walkerton on Sunday, October
1. to meet some of the misSion-
aries.
Weekly euchre
BELGRAVE — Thirteen tables
of euchre were played in the com-
munity rooms last Wednesday
evening with winners as follows
High lady, Mrs. James ('oul-
tes; high man, James Coultes,
low lady, Mrs. Haselgrove; low
man, Mrs. Chester Taylor (play-
ing as a man); ladies' novelty
prizes, Mrs. Lelchere and Mrs.
Sewers: men's novelty prizes,
Mrs. Velma Adams (playing as a
man) and Ross King'.
This is the last euchre until fall.
