Mr. and Mrs. George Gaunt of
Exeter spent the weekend with
her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Bob
Adams and his parents, Mr. and
Mrs. John Gaunt and attended
anniversary service at Chalmers
Church.
This community extends sym-
pathy to the relatives of the late
Alex Leaver on his sudden pass-
ing at Brookhaven Nursing
Home, Wingham.
Mr. and Mrs. Carman Machan
of Kitchener spent the weekend
with her parents, Mr. and Mrs.
George Fisher, Wingham, and on
Sunday afternoon all visited with
Mr. and Mrs. Bill Gibson and
family.
This community wishes a
speedy recovery for Leonard
Walters, son of Mr. and Mrs.
Wilfred Walters. Leonard was
hospitalized in Wingham due to •a
car accident on Sunday and later
transferred to a London hospital.
The family is well known having
attended church here when they
resided on the 2nd of Culross.
Miss Alma Conn a Toronto
spent the weekend itilth her par-
ents, Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Conn.
Jason Conley of Wingham also
visited with them while his par-
ents enjoyed a holiday.
Mr. and Mrs. Brian Caslick of
London were Saturday visitors
with his grandparents, Mr. and
Mrs. Earl Caslick_
Mr. and Mrs. Jack Coultes and
family of Oakville and Mr. and
Mrs. Wilbert Sehwichtenberg and
family of Port Elgin visited Sun-
day with their parents, Mr. and
Mrs. Albert Coultes and with Mr.
and Mrs. Alex Crajg and Lana.
They also called at the funeral
parlor in Wingham where their
uncle, the late Alex Leaver rest-
ed. •
Mrs. Ronald Coultes, Mrs. Rae
Lewis, Joyce and Darlene were
at Kitchener on Saturday.
Mr. and Mrs. George Fisher on
Saturday attended the funeral of
Herbert Foster of Kirkton who
passed away on Thursday in his
sleep. Burial was in St. Marys.
Mrs. Bill Fisher is a daughter of
the late Mr. Foster.
Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Wilken,
Sharon and Michelle of Listowel
were holiday visitors with Mr.
and Mrs. Earl Wilken and family.
Mr. and Mrs. Fred Fells of Toronto were weekend visitors with
Russel Ritchie.
Mr. and Mrs. Victor Wybenga,
Clarence, Kathy and Johnny
were at Bowmanville on Satur-
day and were accompanied home
by their daughter, Rudy who
spent the holiday with them.
Miss Lila Emerson visited Sun-
day with Mr. and Mrs. Victor
Emerson and attended the anni-
versary service.
Mr. and Mrs. Jim Scott and

family and her father, Amsey
Wilken of Listowel, were Sunday
visitors with Mr. and Mrs. Earl
Wilken and family.
This community was shocked
to hear that Bill Craig of Scar-
borough, who visited here with
his wife at the home of Mrs. Rob-
ert Ross about two weeks ago,
had passed away suddenly on
Thursday. His wife was the form-
er Pearl .Mirehouse, sister of
Mrs. Robert Ross. hey were fre-
quent visitors here and Bill, a
good conversationalist, made
many friends. The funeral was
held on Tuesday.
Those attending the Maitland
Presbyterial . on Wednesday of
last week at Knox Presbyterian
Church, Bluevale, were Mrs.
Johnston Conn, Mrs. Earl Cas-
lick, Mrs. Dawson Craig,and Mrs.
Victor Emerson.
Jim McIntosh of lkingham,
Mrs. Neil MacCallum and Alex
McKenzie of lAvicknow spent
Saturday forenoon at the home of
their=sisterrMrs-.--Annie-McqUi
lin, a patient in Wingham and
District Hospital and planted her
garden for her.
Visitors on the weekend with
Mr. and Mrs. Bill Rintoul were
Mr. and Mrs. Harry Gutoskie and
Michelle of Tecumseh, Doris Rin-
toul of London. On Sunday Mr.
and Mrs. Gordon Campbell of
Listowel also visited with her
parents.
The community extends sym-
pathy to Mrs. Dalton Schultz on
the passing of her sister Sunday
in Georgetown. Mr. and' Mrs.
Schultz attended the funeral
earlier this week.
OnMondn.y. evening the White-
church. Recreation Committee
held a fireworks display 'at the
ball park at dusk. A large crowd
gathered for the occasion. Many
t ars returning from holiday trips
lined .the roadside to watch the
display. The public display in the
park lessens the chances of chil-
dren playing unsupervised' with
firewOrks and being involved in
accidents.
MEMBERS OF the golf club put on working clothes Thursday night and planted 900 young
pine trees around the property. DeWitt Miller, Fred Snow, Warren Callan and Dick LeVan
