Miss Amy Catherine Abrams had
been a resident of Wingham. since
1%3, when she owed here with
hear !co-worker:►, Miss Frances
Bryans and Miss Mprdean Mac-
Leod, from the town, of Chesley.
The ladies had operated tea.
licensed nursing home in that
town andopened a similar home
here.
Born at. Cornwall, Ontario. she
was the daughter of the late
Johns Abrams and Catherine
Alguir. She received her educa-
tion there and at the Pentecostal
Bible College in Winnipeg: She
was an ordained minister of the
PADC, in which she labored in
various parts of Ontario and Que-
bec.
Miss Abrams was predeceased
by her parents and three broth -

Mr. and Mrs. William Higgins,
Richard's Landing, were week-
end' guests with his parents, Mr.
and Mrs. Stewart Higgins.
Mr. and Mrs. Alex Petrie of RR
2, Wroxeter, celebrated their. 35th
wedding anniversary on May 24.
The following day they left for
Scotland where they will be visit-
ing relatives of Mr. Petrie.
Mrs. Nancy Binnington and
friend Thomas Scott, Toronto,
spent the holiday with Mrs.
Michael Telehus.
Dr. H. H. Hetherington,
Brampton, visited at the weekend
with his sister,' Mrs. Stanley Gal-
laher.

W. J. Brown buried Thursday
Funeral service was conducted
by the Rev. Barry Passmore at
the S. J. Walker Funeral Home on
Thursday, May 18 for the late
William J. Brown, beloved hus-
band of'Emma East and -father of
W. Marvin Brown of Ottawa;
Mrs. E. A. Elliott (Beryl) of
Wingham; Mrs. W. E. Rowland
(Hilda) of Burlington; Mfrs.. John
M. Hopper (Norma) of Missis-
sauga ; and nine grandchildren.
He was predeceased by three sis-
ters and one 'br'other.
Mr. Brown, who was in his 81st
year, passed away in the Wing -
ham and District Hospital on
'Monday, May 15, after a lengthy
illness. He was a resident of
Wingham for 45 years, and was a
member of the Wingham United
Church.
Pallbearers were Jack Simp-
son, Islington; Ross Bates, St.
Catharines; F, W. Platt, Grand
Valley; Jack O'Mara, Listowel;
Percy McDonald, Fergus and Al-
ton Adams of Wingham. Floral
tributes were, carried by four
grandsons, Brad Elliott, Toronto;
Randy Elliott, Wingham; Steph-
en Brown and Kevin Brown of Ot-
tawa. Interment was in the Wing -
ham Cemetery.
Mrs., E. Snell dies, long illness
Mrs. Edgar Snell of Wingham
passed away in the Wingham and
District Hospital ' on Saturday,
May 20, following a�engthy ill-
ness. She was in 88th year.
Born and educated in Sidney,
Ohio, she was the ,former Bonnie
-May Chambers, a daughter of the
late Frank Chambers and Lor-
etta Young. She married Mr.
Snell in Chicago in 1918 and they

Andrew's Presbyterian Church in
Wingham, where her funeral
service was held on Tuesday at 2
p.m. Rev. R. H. Armstrong offi-
ciated and arrangements were in.

Son Funeral Home. Interment
was in Wingham Cemetery. Pall-
bearers were Harry Snell, Jim
Snell, Richard Snell, Grant Snell,
Joe Poirier and Casey Sawaryn.
Mrs. Snell was the aunt ,of
Charles Effting' of Chicago;
Marian ' Chambers and Mrs.
Marie Penney, both of Dayton,
Ohio. She was predeceased by _
one sister, Mrs. Edward Effting,
and one brother, Harry Cham-
bers.

tells story of
medical missions
The Salvation Army, 292 Ed-
ward Street, will conclude its
Family Movie of the Month series
prior to the summer months with
the 30 -minute color film, "Mir-
acle of Medicine Hill".
This' film tells the story of the
beginnings of Salvation Army
medical mission work in India,
which was founded by Dr. Harry
Andrews in 1900. It introduces the
audience to Drs. Percy Turner
and William Noble who, over
many years, developed the work.

site of the first Salvation Army
