The Huron County Board of Education
For the year ended December° 3 1st, 197 1
TO THE HURON COUNTY
BOARD OF EDUCATION.
I have examined the Balance Sheet of the Huron County Board
of Education as at December 31, 1971 and the Revenue Fund State-
ment of Revenue and Expenditure and the Statement of Source
and Application of Capital Funds for the year then ended. My exam-
ination included a general review of the accounting procedures and
such tests of accounting records and other ' supporting evidence as
I considered necessary in the circumstances.
In my opinion these Financial Statements present fairly the
financial position of the Board as at December 31, 1971 and the
results of its operations and the source and application of its capital
funds for the year then ended, in accordance with accounting prin-
ciples generally accepted for Ontario School Boards applied on a
basis consistent with that of the preceding year. • ,

at Chalmers Church
WHITECHURCH - Anniver-
sary. services were held Sunday
at Chalmers Presbyterian
Church which was decorated with
bouquets of cut flowers and pots
of colorful mums. Guest minister
was Rev. G. L. Royal. Director of
music for the morning - service
was Mrs. Jean Ross. The. choir
sang, "The Last , Mile of the
Race" and "Glory to His Name".
The quartet of Irene DeBoer,
Alma Conn, Jane Laidlaw ' and
Kathy Gibson sang "Beside Blue
Galilee".
The sermon was "To be or not
to be" with Rev. Royal stressing
that minds must be made up to
determine whether one wishes to
be a Christian} or not. It is ever
the same in all -walks of life, to be
or not to be.
In the iivehing the director, df
music was Miss Alma Conn. The
choir gave the message, "Near
the Cross" and "Moment by Mo-
ment". A male chorus, Wesley
Tiffin, Paul Laidlaw, Paul El-
liott, Jim de Boer, .Cecil de 'Boer,
Murray Simpson, Wallace Conn
and Lorne Forster sang "Deeper,
Deeper".
Rev. Royal's message was on
the gift of life. He referred in
opening to the young life killed on
Highway 21 during the afternoon..
Due to the accident • his life had
not lasted through the afternoon
as he had planned. The gift of life
comes in many forms, in nature,
animal and all life. In the .lives of
people Jesus is the mediator be-
cause of the resurrection and as a
result people are in church today,
he said. If we but ask Jesus He
will be with us always, wberrrer
Ave are, th speaker concItirl<ed.
