service was held in the auditor-
ium on Sunday evening, spon-
sored by the South Huron Chris-
tian WomenN Club. Mrs. Luther
of Hensall led the singing of
several familiar - hymns, with
piano accompaniment by Mr.
Luther. Mrs. Whilsmith and Mrs.
Small of Exeter, along with Rev.
and Mrs. Button of Hensall, led
the dev„otionaj.period with special
tribute to mothers. The Heywood
Brothers, Bob and Danny, played
several guitar duets.
One hundred and fifty residents
were entertained on Wednesday
afternoon by 65, grades 2, 3, 4,
and 5 students from Brucefield
Centennial School. The principal,
Mr. Mathers, , introduced and di-
rected the program which in-
cluded voECal solos, duets, trio
quartets, dance numbers, organ,
piano, and trumpet solos. The

program was the numbers by the
choir of 50, directed and accom-
panied by Mrs.. Carol LeBeau,
who, along with the other stu-
dents, gave a fine display of
musical talent.
Hugh Walker, a native of
Brucefield, expressed the appre-
ciation of the folks at Huronview
and visitors for the fine enter-
tainment. Several volunteers
were on hand to help with wheel-
chairs.

Scruton of Goderich and Jimmy
Nott of Clinton provided a musi-
cal program for Family Night.
The group played and sang sev-
eral country and western favor-
ites which everyone enjoyed very
much. Pat Thurlow thanked the
trio on behalf of the residents.

Robert MacDonald, RR 2,
Wingham, was admitted to Wing -
ham and District Hospital Satur-
day with a. dislocated shoulder
received when he fell into a deep
ditch at the Kingdom Hall.
Mrs. Graham Sholdice of Wal-
ton was brought to the hospital
Sunday with injuries to her left
leg, right arm and ribs, received
when she fell off a horse while
participating in a rodeo race at
Teeswater.
Losing control of his car while
driving on. Concession 6, Culross
Township, Sunday, approxi-
mately one mile east of Tees -
Water, Leonard Walters, 20, RR
3, Teeswater, received severe
head injuries and an injured right
shoulder and was brought to
Wingham by the Walkerton am-
bulance 'and was later trans-
ferred via ambulance to Victoria
Hospital, London.
The accident was investigated'
by provincial police officers

Drivers find
Friday unlucky
Wingham police were called to
investigate three accidents Fri-
day, total damage amounting to
less than $1,000.
A little excitement resulted
when a parked car coasted across
the John Street intersection on
Josephine Street, mounted the
curb and crashed into the door of
the Toronto -Dominion Bank.
Gerald A. Smith, RR 3, Wing -
ham, had parked on Josephine
north of John and the car rolled
downhill while unattended.
Damage to the car was set at $75
and to the bank's glass door about
$125.
A Siebrigje Muscheid, RR 4,
Wingham, was in collision with a
car driven by -Rose A. Lawson of
Clinton late Friday afternoon at
River Road and Water Street.
Damage to the former's vehicle
was estimated at $50 and to the
Lawson car at $250.
A car driven by Harr.,., r Brown,
Wingham, was in collision with a
car driven by Paul M. Kieffer,
RR 2, Teeswater, Friday evening
at Alfred and Josephine Streets.
Brown attempted to enter
Josephine Street and his vision
was obscured by a large truck
parked near the North End
Grocery. Damage to his car. was
$300 and to the Kieffer vehicle
about $100:

of the Muscheid-Lawson incident,
is continuing.
John Bartman (1699-1777) was°
called the "Father of American
Botany" and lived in Philadel-
phia where he had a garden of in-
teresting specimens that he col-
lected during a life time of travel
in the then unknown regions of
North America. He sent many
botanical specimens to London to
be identified and named.
