league finishes season
with banquet, dancing
The Fordwich Mixed Bowling
League held its annual banquet
Saturday night in Trinity As-
can Church where "tW ACW
catered. After a very delicious
beef dinner, the president, Jack
Schumacher presided for the
business. Leone Foerter, sec-
retary -treasurer read the min-
utes from last year's banquet.
Officers for the coming year
are: President, Doug Brown; 1st
vice, Fred McCann; sec.-treas.,
Winnie Winkel.
The Fordwich Team was again
the winner of the Bob Douglas
Trophy.
Trophies were presented. to the

Ladies prepare
for zone rally
FORDWICH — Letters from
various auxiliaries were read in
regard to the zone rally when the
Ladies' Auxiliary to Howick
Branch, Royal Canadian Legion
held its May meeting. The rally
will be held by Howick branch on
May 10.
Mrs. Ken Underwood presided.
Mrs. Mel Allan, treasurer and
Mrs. Sorena Austin, secretary,
gave their reports. An invitation
was also read from the Wingham
auxiliary . to attend a euchre
tournament on May 11.
The mystery prize, donated by
Mrs. Alex .Graham, was won by
Mrs. George Hamilton. A get well
card was signed for Mrs. Jack
Clarke who' underwent surgery in
Wingham and District Hospital.
