activities of the older girls during

also stressed the importance of

Signers held their spring meeting
May 3 in the community hall with
an attendance of seven. Presi-
dent John Jamieson presided,
called the meeting to order and
welcomed the group. The
Minutes were read by the • sec-
retary, Mrs, Victor Emerson.
The meeting was informed that
instead,of a 99 -year lease of prop-
erty that they have a lease re-
newable yearly:•at a charge of
$•1.00 per year.
Treasurer Elwood Groscorth
gave his report. He was author-
ized to reinvest a $500 certificate
coming •due.
Frank Jamieson. is to be re-
sponsible for mowing grass -at the
pump house.
Maintenance fees will still be
payable at Doris Willis' store.
John Jamieson's store and El-
wood Groskorth's home.
John Jamieson told of his inter-
view with Norman Shepherd, a
Kincardine lawyer on forming a
company in which alt signers
would have a part. It was agreed
that John Jamieson contact Mr.
Shepherd as to when he could
attend a meeting.

Damages high in
week's accidents
An estimated $2,000 damage to
three cars occurred Sunday,
April 30 on Huron County Road 33
near Wroxeter. Involved in the
collision were vehicles owned by
David M. Hohnstein of Clifford,
George E. Mazey and Donald
Harpley of Mississauga. The first
car suffered $500 damage, the
second was set at $1,000 and the
third at $500. There were no in-
juries.
A vehicle owned by the Bel-
grave branch of United Co -opera-
tives of Ontario and a vehicle
owned by Kenneth J:. Pollard, RR
1, Blyth, were involved in an ac-
cident in Blyth 'Monday, May 1.
Total damag,,. was $200. There
were no injuries.
The next day Mahendra K. 'Jain
of Wingham was involved in a
single car accident on Highway
86 at the junction of County Road
12 when the Jain car struck fence
posts on the property of William
Sanderson RR 1,' Bluevale.
Damage to the Jain vehicle was
assessed at $4W. There were no
injuries, but charges are pend-
ing.
Another single car accident on
Friday, resulted in fence 'posts
being damaged. Wendell J.
McCallum; RR. 1, Belgrave, was
involved in the accident on
County Road 20, slightly more
than a mile west of Highway 4.
'The McCallum vehicle received
$25 damage. The broken posts
were on the property of John Car-
inichael. RR 1, Belgrave.
Charges are pending.
Another single car accident oc-
curred Saturday: on Highway 86
west of Molesworth. William D.
Gilkinson of Listowel was the
driver and damage to his vehicle
was estimated at $1,200. There
were no injuries.
Susan E. Gannett of Wingham
escaped injury Saturday in
another single car accident on the
B -Line. Turnberry Township.
The car 'struck a fence post own-
ed by Joseph Peters of RR 3,
Wingham. then rolled over. Dam-
age to . the Gannett vehiclewas
estimated at $500.

ora is visiting this week with her
sister, Miss Cheryl Hayes. Le-
anne has just successfully com-
pleted a course for a Bachelor of
Nursing degree at the University
of Manitoba. She will be return-
ing home this week where she
will take a position on the staff of
the Lake -of -the -Woods District
Hospital.

honored last Friday when frien

Haney spent the weekend with

was held Sunday in honor of her
87th birthday. She returned to her
