WROXETER -- Holy commun-
ion
ommun'ion was held at the Palm Sunday
service in the United Church.
The choirs sang the anthem,
"The Patens'' by. Charles Gabriel.
The children's'story was'alft3ut
the narrow streets of Jerusalem
lined with children shouting
hosanna to Jesus, as He passed
by on the donkey.
The sermon, "The Wondrous
Cross", was well given by Rev.
G. Sach. The life and death of
Jesus go together, he said. His
death has meant redemption for
believers. The teachings of Jesus
can bring justice and good rela-
tionships for all. Each one of us
needs to be saved.
"Are you going your owns: way,
hostile to God's salvation?" he
asked. The death of Christ shows
us the nature of our sins. Sin is a
clenched fist against our God.
Death brings us to a new relation-
ship with God, as we acknow-
ledge our sins and accept God, he
continued.
There were three groups at the
cross: (i) those issuing lip ser-
vice, Hosanna or crucify Him (ii)
those who misunderstood Jesus'
mission as a King (iii) those who
loved Him to the very end. To
which group do you belong? We
are not saved by working for God,
but by accepting God. Join the
third group today and be saved
by God, Mr. Sach concluded.
