A former resident of Wingham,
Mrs. John 1VIcNiven, passed away
at her home in Dundas en Satur-
day. She was in her 76th, year. -
Mrs. McNiven was the former
Gertrude Thompson; She was a
member. of the Salvation Army,
an . honorary member of ' the
Grand Orange Lodge of Hamil-
ton, also the LOBA No. 259.
Surviving are her husband
whom she married in 1919; One
son George of Toronto and .'one
daughter Mrs. Charles (Marion)
Johnson of North Bay.
Funeral service was held Mon-
day in Dundas following which
the tate Mrs. McNiven was con-
veyed to Wingham for interment
in Wingham Cemetery. Brigadier
Gillingham officiated assisted by
Capt. J. Fearnall of the Wingham
Corps of the Salvation Army.

Funeral service was held on
Sunday at the S. J. Walker
Funeral Home .on Patrick Street,
for Mrs. William J. Roulston of
Wingham who passed away Fri-
day at the Wingham and District
Hospital after a brief illness. She
was 77 years of age.
Rev. Barry Passmore offi-
ciated at the 3 p.m. service and
temporary entombment followed
in the Wingham Cemetery
Chapel.
Pallbearers were Sandy Mac -
Charles, Gordon Roulston, John
Roulston, Norval Stewart; Jake
Jutzi and William. Austin. Flower
bearers were Stewart Beattie and
Donald Kai.
Mrs. Roulston was the former
Jemima (Miura) Smith and was
born in Huron Township, Bruce
County. She.was a daughter of the
late William and Susan., Smith.
She and Mr. Roulston were
married in Huron Township on
June 12, 1918 and they farmed in
Huron until retiring to Wingham
in 1946. He predeceased her the
same year.
Surviving are one. sister, Mrs.
Elmer (Alice) Osborne of Ripley;
eight nieces. and nephews, Mrs.
Jack 'Reavie of Wingham; Mrs.
Duncan McCallum of Hanover;
Mrs. Robert Campbell; Luck -
now; Mrs. Ray Pennington,
Teeswater; Robert Osborne of
• Ripley; Mrs: • Kenneth • llillyar'
and Mrs. Merle Nelson°of Salina,
• Kansas and Smith Parsons of
Kansas °City, Missouri. She was
predeceased by a son Charles in
1938; a brother Charles E. Smith
and' a sister, Mrs. William
(Cinda) Parsons.
' Mrs. Roulston was a member
of the Wingham United Church
and, an active member of the
UCW, having` been president for
several years and awarded with a
life membership in the group.

Roy Bert Thomas, native of
Bluevale; died March 8 at
Queensway General Hospital,
Etobicoke. Private service was
held March "9 at the Wignall Fu-
neral Chapel- with interment in
Beachwood Cemetery.
Roy Thomas was born in Buie •

vale and attended public school
there. He later went to Wingham
High School.
.He is survived by his wife May;
daughter Judith; brothers, Har-
old of Brussels; Mackenzie of
Cooksville and Bernard of Wing -
ham; sister Judith of Ingersoll
and his stepmother, •Mrs. William
Elston of Wingham.

Mrs. Frank Wilson, mother of
Mrs, James Leishman, Belgrave,
died at the Alexandra Marine and
Genera! Hospital in Goderich on
Wednesday of last week. She was
75 years of age.
Born in Colborne Township,
Mrs. Wilson was a daughter of
the late. John Young and
Elizabeth Miller. She spent her
early years in Colborne, with the
exception of five years spent in
Walkerton. She was married to
Mr. VVilson.on September 20, 1920
at Loyal, Colborne Township and .
the couple resided at 'Nile until
theinremoval to Godaricb, in 1950.
While they resided at Nile they
were members of the Smith's Hill
United Church at' Carlow and
later attended Victoria Street
United Church in Goderich.
Mrs. Wilson is survived by her
husband, two sons, Jack of Blyth
and Don of Exeter and one
daughter, Mrs. ,James (Ruby)
Leishman of Belgrave; her twin
sister, Miss Ruby, Young of God-
erich, Mrs. Stanley (Hazel) Todd
of Southampton and was pre-
deceased by a sister, Mrs. John
(Pearl) Patton of Colborne.
There are 12 grandchildren.
Service was conducted at the
Stiles Funeral Home in Goderich
on Friday at 2 p.m. by Rev.
Leonard Warr with interment in
Colborne cemetery. Pallbearers
were three grandsons, John,
Frank and Jim Leishman .and
Terry Bauer, Ross Wilson and
Len Wilson. The flowers were
carried by Allan Stoll, Brad
Kennedy and Fordyce Clark.
Mrs. Jamieson

Mrs. Thomas J. Jamieson of
Whitechurch passed, away in the
Wingham and District Hospital
on Thursday, March 23 following
a brief illness. She was in her 71st
year.
Mrs. Jamieson, the former
Gladys Mabel Stapleton, was
born in East Wawanosh Town-
ship, a daughter of the late
Emanuel Stapleton and Mabel
Bruce. She attended S.S. No. 8,.
East Wawanosh and she and her
husband farmed in East Wawa -
nosh before 'retiring to White-
church 11 years ago this June.
She was a member of the
Whitechurch Women's Institute-
and
nstitut .and the United Church Women.
Surviving besides her husband,
are four sons, Ross of Wingham;
John and Ronald of East Wawa -
nosh ; Earl of West Wawanosh; 11
grandchildren and two great- .
grandchildren. Also surviving
are two sisters, Mrs." Wilbert
(Dorothy) Procter of Morris
Township and Mrs. Carl (Alber-
ta) Bennett of London. "
The late Mrs. Jamieson rested
at the R. A. Currie and Son funer-
al home until Saturday at 2 p.m.
when service was conducted by
pastor Karel de Koeijer of the
Whitechurch United Church. In-
terment' followed in Wingham
Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Ernie Snow-
den, George Webster, William
Rintoul, Carl Weber, Leonard
Philips and Donald Dow. Floral.

'Ole death occurred in County
of Bruce General Hospital, Walk-
erton, on Tuesday, March 21, of
Gordon Kenneth Wright of RR 1,
Clifford. He -was in his 57th year
and death followed a severe heart
attack.
Born in Louden on May 3, 1915,
he was a son of the late Johnl
Wright and Elia Simpson- For
moat of his life the farmed in How -
ick Township. At various tunes
he was also .a school bus driver
for four years and for four years.
was a fieldman for the Harriston
Cooperatives.
Mr. Wright was a member of
the Clifford Masonic •Lodge and a
member of the McIntosh United
Church where he had served as
an elder, a delegate to prem
and a member of the board of
stewards. In his free time he en-
joyed travelling and derived a
great deal of pleasure from his
keen interest and participation in
music. .
He is survived by his wife, the
former Laurin Dahms whom he
married in November of 1934;
three sons, Graham, John and
Rodney, all of RR 1, Clifford;
four' • daughters; Mrs. Sydirley.

Wingham, Mrs. Gregory (San.
dra) Buchanan of Newmarket;
Mrs. John (June) Paynter, of
Waterloo and Mrs. Robert (Jan-
ette) McClean of Willowdale.
Also surviving are 13 grandchil-
dren.
He was predeceased by one
brother, Harold.
The late Mr. Wright rested at
the Rolufs Funeral Chapel in
Clifford. Funeral service at Mc-
Intosh United Church 'was con-
ducted by Rev. Keith Wettlaufer
Thursday at 2 p.m. Temporary
entombment took place in the
McIntosh Mortuary.
Pallbearers were Robert Allan,
Emerson Ferguson, Robert
Wood, Jack Ferguson, Bruce
Harkness and James Inglis. Four
grandchildren, Dennis Thomp
son, Lori Thompson, Patti Wright
and Valerie Wright, carried
