Sermon stresses aim
of' true Christian life
Showing Christian love and
cQpcern for others was the theme
of the morning worship service in
the Wingham United Church on
Sunday. Rev. Barry Passmore's
sermon title was "He Took It
upon Himself". He spoke of out-
standing Christians like Martin
Luther King, Albert Schweitzer,
Dietrich Bonhoeffer who could
.-have lived peaceful and comfort-
able lives but took it upon them-
selves to break away from the
good life and scarifice their own
comforts to help others. He urged
this kind of sacrifice for
Christians in our area, giving for
others and finding people to help
without wanting reward; and said
that is what being a Christian is
all about.
' In keeping with the theme, the
Stewardship and Outreach com-
mittee prepared a display on the
giving of one day's pay for over-
