WROX,ETER — Rev. 'J. Jen,
flings of Wingham conducted,
morning service at the United
Church in the absence, through
illness, of Rev. G. Sach.
The theme of the message was
"The Lord's Offering". Lent is a
time for searching of hearts.
When we speak of offering we
think of money.
The Hebrews were taxed for
tithes; there was no offering in
church. 'as mandatory to pay •
the. tithef one-tenth of one's
earn4gs or becast out. Solo-
mon'T temple hsad a free will
offering at the door and they
-v.fbived More than they rir
"Are we shirkers or workerS?"
Jennings asked. The church
should be a working. place. From
the hymn, "Take My Life and Let
It Be" we are led to see the use of
life, hands, voice, silver, will,
heart and love should be con-
tributed to help .God.
Rev. Jennings read the hymn,
"Just As I Am Thjne Own to Be",
especially for the young people of
the congregation to show there
should be no restkve, no delay tn.
serving God. "We should give
burselves to God now and use our
faith in everyday affairs," he
sok
\title choir sang the anthem,
"Within These Courts".
