CBC Television joined forces
with the Columbia Broadcast-
ing System in the. U. S. to bring
us as fine coverage as we could
expect from the surface of the
moon, more than 50 hours of in-
formation and excitement. Sun-
day and Monday provided the
longest continuous coverage of
any event by a television crew,
from noon Sunday to 6 p. m.
Monday. CBS coverage was
headed by commentator Walter
Cronkite and.former astronaut
Wally Schirra; when their cov-
erage was interrupted, Canad-
,ians Gordon Donaldson, Lloyd
Robertson and Percy Saltzman
were on hand in Toronto to fill
us in on Canadilan reaction and
• happenings. They •were ahard-
working crew and deserve a lot
of credit. As one witness said,
"It is amazing for the astron-
auts to walk on the moon, but
even more amazing that we can
see it all as it happens! What
a wonderful day to remember!
