On Saturday, in their winning game, they de feated Gorrie 8-3 with goals scored by Douglas Jeffray and Richard Inglis (2 each), Shayne Goidrich, Rob Heller, P a u 1 Kieffer and Pat O'Malley with one each. They now proceed to the finals with the winner of the Belgrave-Kurtzville. series. The PeeWees are also into their best two -of- three semi- final series, playing their first game on Thursday evening in Belmore against Kurtzville. Although they lost 5-4, there are high hopes that they will bounce' back' to take the final two games. Goals were scored by Bruce Dickert and Paul Ing- lis, with two each. Hope's are also pinned on the . Squirts this week who lost their first semi-final game, being defeated on Saturday by Bel- grave 10-1 in a game in that town. Kevin Haskins was Bel- more's lone scorer. The Tykes unfortunately, lost out in their series of final games, meeting defeat op Mon- day evening 4-2 at the hand of the Belgrave team, and on Sat- urday 2-1. Belgrave won the Johann Trophy with their win, but Belmore playedfine hock- ey, particularly David Kieffer, a real little champ, and respon- sible for all last week's goals. The Midgets played two games last week. Monday even- ing they were defeated by Mirtz- ville 5-0; and Wednesday even- ing in Belgrave, losing 9-4 (just wasn't their week!). The, Midgets played in Belmore against Bel - more, defeating them 5-0 on Monday night and on Wednes- day night journeyed over to Kurtzville and defeated them 10-3. The PeeWees played the first game in a play-off series with Belgrave on Friday night but lost by a 4-2 score. The Squirts played in the local arena on Saturday morn- ing , against Kurtzville and both teams really played well, but the visitors won 3-2. , - The Intermediates defeated Gorrie on Wednesday night 15- 5. • Rick McPherson (2), Terry O'- Malley and Alan Dickson with one each. Get out and support the Kinsmen Carnival. • Hospital team returns tonight The Fordwich Bantam hockey team played host Thursday, night to a hockey team from Mid -Western Hospital, Palmer ston. Fordwich won the game but the other team played well and will be back this Thursday. night at 7.30 for another game. About 50 boys and girls from the hospital were transported by bus to cheer their team. It is hoped the people of the corn- munity will come out and sup- port these young people.
