BE HELD HERE
Mrs. H. Wild attended an
Ontario Association for the
Mentally. Retarded Recreation
Committee meeting, on -Satur-
day at the Ascot Hotel, Malton.
A motion was passe` to hold a
one -day workshop on recreation
for Retarded in Wingharn next
October.
There will be 10 associations
from Region 5 attending, as
well as others interested.

Well, Scout Week has come
and gone again. But then, ev-
ery week can be Scout Week,
can't it? It's the same as any-
thing else; the more you put in-
to it, the more enjoyment, fun
.and rewards you'll get out of it. .
Last Friday the Cubs and
Scouts of Wingham honored the
movement's founder by wear-
ing their uniforms all day.

THE ASTRONAUTS
We are the Astronauts (Astros)
and have been together as a
patrol since January. Our
names are Terry Har eo a rt,pa-
trol leader; BobMcDougall,pa--
trol second; Keith Snowdon,
Shane Foxton and Randy Mona-
han, our most recent recruit.
We usually meet at the home
of our patrol leader, H. -Sinna-
mon, one night a week.
All of us are working on our
Bronze Citizen badges as well
as various challenge badges.
At the last treop meeting, Pa-
trol Leader Terry took charge •
of the investiture of the other
boys in the patrol and we wel-
&med Randy, our new boy,
that night. Terry has been the
busiest boy in the group to date
and has earned two bronze
awards, Explorer and First -Aid.
He -also has earned the Family
Care and. Pet Keeper badges.
Terry and Bob are well on the
way to earning the Collector
badge.
In the past we have visited
the Court House in Goderich
and hope to take a trip to a
Provincial Park area, as soon
as the weather permits. .
Our woggles are gold and .
blue like bur patrol symbol,
the planet Saturn and the Big.
Bear Constellation. Thesesym-
bois andcolours will be featur-
ed in our patrol flag. We are
new to the .world_ of Scouting,

Jack Bowman's Brussels rink
won the nine o'clock draw in
the Stanley -Berry bonspiel on
Saturday and shaded the top
rink in the later draw to win the
trophy. Vice was Sam Sween-
ey; second, Jim Bowman and -
lead Jim Ireland. They tallied
three wins and a plus of 17.
Second place in the early
draw was taken by,Alan Mac -
Kay's Wingham rink with two
plus 11; third, the John Bullock
rink of•London with two plus 9.
The consolation prize winners
were Wallace Ballagh and his
team mates from Teeswater.
In first position in the eleven
o'clock draw were Bob M'c Kague
of Teeswater,. skip; Jack Mc-
Burney, vice; Red McDonald,
second and Bob Ruttan, lead.
The Philip Adams rink of
Wingham was in second spot and
third place was taken by Rich-
ard Wehmeyer's Wingham rink.

With -only two weeks of reg-
ular bowling left it looks as if
no one can catch up to Perry's
Prowlers. Congratulations to
Perry Holmes and his team con-
sisting of Eileen Bennett, Wayne
Brown, Bill Hotchkiss, Gerry
Belanger and Sheila Rintoul for
winning the league champion-
ship. It must have been those
wild squeals of Sheila's andrthe
stamping of Gerry's foot that
helped you win.
With the fine bowling of.
Gwen MacLaurin and Barry Fry,
Keith's Kool Kats gained anoth-
er seven points and moved into
third .place. It's hard to beat
Gwen. For the third week in a
row she took all the honors. Her
high single was a 275 and her
high triple was a 675. Barry .
Fry bowled a fine 330 for the
men's high single and a' total of
862 for the, men's high triple.
