Mrs. M. Bell dies
at Huronview
Mrs. Matthew Bell, a resi-
dent of Wingham since -1933, -
died January 29 at Huronview,
Clinton, where she had been a
patient for a long period. She
was 78.
A native of Scotland, the
former Elizabeth Gauntlet Blake
was born in Greenock, daughter
of the late Mr. and Mrs, Wil-
liam Blake. She came to Ca-
nada in 1904 and lived at Dry-
den.
She married MatthetiP. Bell
. in Winnipeg.- They came to
Winghain in 1933where Mr. Bell
bought the Arunswick Hotel. Fle
predeceased -her 4n- 1949.
Mrs. Bell wak a member of
St. Andrew's Presbyterian
'Church and the Wingham Wo-
men's Institute.
She is survived by four sons,
Matthew of Owen Sound, An- .
drew of Petrolia, Hugh of Ed-
monton and Raymond, Kitchen-
er; two daughters, M t s. Al
(Nora) Weirmier of Kitchener
and Mrs. Ray (Bete) Richards
of Stratford; and thirteen grand-
children.
.She is also survived by a -

W lliain and a sister, Mrs: Peter
D ganel, also of Fort William
Funeral service' was conduct-
ed by Rev. G. L. -Fish on Fri-
day afternoon at the R. A. Cur-
rie .& Son funeral home, with
burial in Wingham Cemetery.

Aitchlson, Russel Farrier, Bill
Lockridge, Alex MacDonald,
Bruce MacDonald and Andy
Scott, all of Wingham. The
flower bearers weretwo grand-
sons, Paul Bell and George
Weirmier.
