' If we start youngsters wear-_, ing such safety equipment when they begin the game, they won't want to give it .up at any stage of their careers and come to think of it, it's suicide to go out there without protection. - WE'VE HEARD JAKE JUTZI has been voted the most popular goal judge of the year by the "180 Sports" . The winner came after :34 seconds of the second over- time period. Don Willie led the Sports with 2 goals while Fryfogle. Fc.:sten, Lee and Irwin all col- lected singles. Forster .also picked up two assists as did Strong and McTavish. The most convincing reason for the win was the fantastic goaltend- ing of Wayne Riehl who blanked shot after shot, labelled as goals. TAKE LEAD Willie notched his first at ' 11:26 as the lankie winger.gath- ered in a pass from Gardner to beat the Bulldog twiner. Strong also received an assist. Less than a minute later, Wilson 'of Kincardine scored the picture goal of the night (apart from Ellwood's) as he took the puck at centre ice and • dipsy-doodled past English' and Bain 'on de« fence. ° While the light was still hot. Fryfogle . fired a de- flected shot from a faceoff in the Kincardine zone which beat Begg. Forster got the assist and the goal came just three seconck after Johnston of Kincardine . went off for tripping. - BULLDOGS TIE IT The second period started *out with McLeod of Kincardine . carrying the puck into the W Ing- ham zone, around four defend- ers, to pass to Johnston Who -fir- ed iipast Riehl. The boys start- ed feeling their oats about this time, Shewfelt and Gardner both doing -a stint for high stick ing at '9;09. Bain was benched for interference at 10:04 and ' while he was resting. J. OVERTIME After only 55 seconds of the ten-minute .overtime period, Johnny Jdhnston let go with a blast from inside the blueline and it trickled through Riehl's pads after he had made the int., tial stop. In the sudden death. Wing -4, hang.made one rush and Kincar- dine managed to get it back in- to the Wingham zone. Drop third game 7-4 The "180 Sports" were not so fortunate in the third game of the series, losing 7-4 to Kin- •cardine on Sunday afternoon. Riehl could net make the game and was replaced by Crawford. ' A possible reaction might be to lay the blame for, the loss on Bill's shoulders but the responsi- bility was in many departments. Crawford, as a matter of fact, played a treirt"endous game, blanking Kincardine in the first period and allowing them only one in the second. One of the six Bulldog goals in the third period was scor&d into • an empty net. Don 'Lee put Wingham ahead 1-0 on a breakaway pass from Barry Fryfogle at.11:33, deking ' Begg in the Bulldog net.
