We did it! Just as we prow-
ised, we racked up another vie,
tory this year for a marvelous
record of 7 losses and 2 wins.
This was the first game of the
year in which the senior teach
.actually played good basket-
ball as was shown in the . third
quarter when the Wingham
team 'outscored Mitchell by 25
"points. Wingham was quite
constant in the rebounding de-
'partment and_1 4 throughout
the ga el(Shooting was still
off to but no complaints
were heard this game.
Yes sir, we promised one
win this season and again we
succeeded in fulfilling our
,promise by outjumping, out-
playing and outscoring Mitchell
51-39 in OUR best game of the
season. i
We keep saying, "Well, .
•,tmaybe next year". and `this is "
no exception. Next year with
the coach we let down so often,
Mr. Taylor, we will winjr
.WE WILL TRY HARDER.
JUNIOR BOYS
"Oh no ! " This is what was
heard throughout the Wingham
District High School gallery as
the students watched our juniors
go down to defeat at the hands
• of Mitchell. The Mitchell
juniors play very good basket-
ball as they checked out team
down to a mere 38 points.
Wingham fought hard.to win
but couldn't break through the
Mitchell defence quite often
enough. The score was 61-38.
One sad coach was seen in
Mr. Wilcox as he suffered the •
anguish of every player from
the bench.
The junior team did better
than was' expected this year,
thanks to .scoring acetBill Skinn
and the good .coaching of Mr.
Wilcox. Next year means a •
whole new junior team, „so
good luck, fellas!

On Saturday, . February 10th,
the Huron` Perth Curling bons=
.piel was held in Exeter. The
girls'. team from Wingham was:
composed of skip, Gloria Reid; "
vice, Lynda Reavie, second,
Cathy Kaschenko and lead,
Audrey Coultes.
In the, first game'Wingham
only scoredone point and since
Stratford, ,the opponents, ranr
aged to obtain considerably
more points; it turned out to be
a bad "morning for Wingham. ,
After seeing the boys Win®their
second game the girls were det-
ermined' to
et-ermined''to do likewise and we
almost did. but we just missed
tying the game as Exeter beat.-
us 5.4. •
But we were not to be dis- ,
couraged and came back in the
third game to defeat the same
opponents 6-3. ' •
Although we were not the ,
victors of the day we proved
that we are capable of winning
sornetirries, a fact which sgme
people, including our coach,
doubted. ,

large, ferocious dog growling and waiting for him on the
ground. The Repairman didn't panic. Instead, he just
