Hate mail mars vote
GODHRICH - The wind-
up of the municipal
election campaign in
Goderich was somewhat
upstaged by a hate mail
-ampaign:
Goderich Police Chief
' Pat King reported that
several election can-
didates, business people
and citizens in town had
received a controversial
letter in the mail.
"These people received
an envelope and inside
was a piece of paper with
a face on it and 'an ob-
scerlity in reference to the
candidate," he reported.
The letters were ap-
parently mailed from
Goderich although some
bore Stratford post-
---marks -The--ehief said -it
was standard procedure
for letters mailed on the
weekend to be routed
through Stratford.
