A large group of residents Met in, the craft room , on Tuesday afternoon and worked .on ceramics, Grace Peck, Bernice Glousher,, .Ethel Hill, Muriel Gibson, Mary McAllister, Jennie Chestney, Margaret tudy ceramics Murray and Minnie Fowler went to Goderich on a shopping trip on Wednesday afternoon. The Over 90 Club met on Wednesday afternoon on first floor north, Elsie Henderson played the piano for the residents' enjoyment and fir.hn McTaggart played his. mouth organ. Cookies and tea were served at thee end of the program. Mrs. Prouty held Bible Study in the chapel on Thursday! .afternoon and the ROM an Catholics held a mass in the chapel .on Friday morning. Huronview would like to welcome Fred Burdge from. Brucefield and Stanley Wilson who is originally from Goderich, but has been living with his son in St. Marys. JOHN MacDONALD Newlyweds visit in the Poconos Candelabras and fall color flower arrangements decorated St. Andrew's United Church in Bayfield on October 11 for the wed- ding ceremony of John Duncan MacDonald and Christina Nancy Koene, both of Sarnia. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jan Koene of Bayfield and the groom is the son of Dr. and Mrs. M.M. MacDonald of Thedford: The Reverend Alan Thomas 'of. Bayfield of- ficiated at the double ring ceremony. Organist was Molly Cox. The bride was given in marriage by her father. She wore a full skirted floor length wedding gown featuring a neckline and bodice trimmed in Venice lace and pearls. Her chapel veil and skirt hem were trimmed in matching Chantilly -type lace and she carried a brown and beige silk flower bouquet. Matron of honor was Jac Cie Thompson of Goderich. She wore a peach colored floor length dress with a peach and floral jacket. • She carried a bouquet of silk " flowers arranged by Gammage of Bayfield. were--Pat-- Van Biesbrouck of Bayfield and Brenda Cleave of Matheson, Ontario. Flower girl. was Terri Koene of Nampa, Alberta. These . at- tendants were all gowned the same as the matron of honor, Groomsman was Larry Smith of Alymer, Quebec. Guests were ushered into the church by Cal MacDonald of Forest and Jim Koene of Seaforth. Ringbear.er was Jonathan O'Neil of Forest. Following the wedding ceremony, a reception was held in the Bayfield Community Centre. The bride's mother greeted guests wearing a lime green floor length dress with lace jacket and white carnation corsage. The groom's mother assisted wearing a jade green wrap around dress with a white carnation corsage. Guests attending the wedding from a distance came from Alberta, Burlington, Chatham, Sarnia, London, North Carolina and Windsor. For a wedding trip to the Pocono Mountains in Pennsylvania, the bride changed td" a burgundy skirt and tunic top with a pink carnation corsage. - Prior to her wedding, the bride was feted at showers given by the ladies of St,_ Andrew United Church; by Lena Koefte and Jackie Thompson; and by Susan MacDonald, Ruth Hughes and Mandy Tulpin. Albert Ernest A lifetime Albert Ernst of RR 2, Bayfield, died in Huronview on November 1. He was 87 years old. Mr. Townshend –was born on the fifth con- cession Goderich Township on September 10, 1893. His parents were Albert Townshend and the ` former Hannah Scotchmer. In 1912, he was married to the former Irene Harrison in Goderich and the couple made their home in Goderich Township. Mr. Town- shend was well known for his dealings in livestock and farms. Mr. Townshend is survived by his wife and three children, William of RR 2, Bayfield, Mrs. William (Anna) Blat- chford of RR 2, Atwood and Mrs. William (Joyce) Morrison of London. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, six" great grandchildren and one brother the Rt. Rev. W.A. Townshend of London. Mr. Townshend was predeceased by his Parents, two brothers, a sister and one daughter Mary Elizabeth. Funeral services were held at the Ball Funeral Home in Clinton on November 3. Rev. John Oestreicher of Clinton and Archdeacon Robert Townshend of Owen Sound, a nephew of the deceased, officiated. Interment followed at the Bayfield Cemtery. The pallbearers were Robert Morrison, Jim Morrison, Ernest Blat- chford, Joe Blatchford, John Simmons and Dave Simmons. Following the com- mittal service, lunch was served at the Holmesville United Church by the members of the __united Church Women. Isaac (Joe) Carter A life-long resident of Clinton, Isaac (Joe) Carter died in St. Josephs Hospital, London on November 3. He was 80 years old. Mr. Carter was born in Townshend Hullett Township on April area native, 24, 1900 to Isaac and Townshend Cat _rine Carte.r..�n July 7, 1923, he married Marion Mabel Nash and they resided in Clinton, where Mr. Carter worked at Sherlock Manning Piano Factory for 55 years as a machinist. He retired , in 1969. Mr. Carter was a member of Wesley Willis United Church. Mr. Carter is survived by his wife and three daughters, ' Mrs. Ray (Ruth) Chambers, Mrs. Ben (Thelma)^'-IVinre both of London, Mrs. Cam (Faye) PickettI of Bath and also one son Ken of Kitchener. • He is ;also. survived by 14 grand- children, nine great grandchildren and two sisters, Mrs. Hazel McDougall of Stratford , and Mrs. Frances Freenian of Clinton. Mr. Carter was predeceased by his parents, two sisters and six brothers Rev. John Oestreicher conducted the funeral service on November 5 at the Beattie Funeral Home in Clinton and interment followed in the Clinton Cemetery. The pallbearers were Mr.' Carter's six gran- dchildren, Bill Cham- bers, Richard Chambers, Jim Moore, Carter Moore, Doug Moore all of London, and Christopher Carter of Kitchener. At present,_ Union Gas services communities along Highway 4, but has no ._ gas line_ along the shores of Lake Huron from Sarnia to Goderich. Bob Lewis of Union Gas in Chatham said that the federal budget which is presently before parliament could see the expansion of gas services to areas which were previously deemed marginal in terms of income potential. ,. In other business, the ladies are planning a shopping trip to Stratford on November 19 and it was decided to cancel the meeting in January, February and March, , beginning again in April and carrying on throughout the rest of the year.
