Clinton News-Record, 1980-11-08, Page 61Pies and tarts MEXICAN DATE PIE 3 egg yolks Scant i/2 cup white sugar 1/4 tsp. salt 1/2 tsp. vanilla 2 cups milk Dates Nutmeg Method: Line an unbaked pie shell with dates,beat together egg yolks, sugar, salt, vanilla and milk. Pour over dates, sprinkle with nutmeg. Bake in 400 degree oven until done. When slightly cooled, beat egg whites until stiff, adding 2 tablespoons sugar, 1/4 teaspoon of vanilla, -put on pie and return to oven to brown at 375 degrees. Goderich JELLO FRUIT FIE 1 lemon jello 1/2 cup white sugar 1 package vanilla pudding 434 size (not in- stant) 1 cap water Cook above ingredients on low heat or double boiler. Cool.
