There will be NO tickets
at the door. Guest
speaker will be the
famous clairvoyant, Vera
McNichol.
Recreation Centre
On Monday, October 27
the second Multiple
Sclerosis meeting took
place at the centre. The
attendance was small but
the weather was not good
and this may account for
it.
Again, we are looking
for people to participate
in a crafts program on
Thursday night from 8:30
- 10 p.m. It has been
decided the program will
take the shape of a "do
your own thing" session.
That is to •say that you
will doyour own craft
which you will choose at
random. Along with .the
aid of an instructor, you
can show what you know
and learn from others in
the class. For, in-
formation'. . phone the
centre at 482-3544.
Anyone between the
ages of 8 and 16 interested
in forming a ball hockey
league please contact
Rick Fortune at the
centre. If enough are
interested teams will be
chosen and a league will
be formed and a schedule
made up.

John McLachlan and first
prize for the .most
original costume went to
Darryl Dixon at the Cub
Hallowe'en costume
party.
Two films were also
shown: "Legend of
Johnny Appleseed" and
"2,000 Leagues Under the
Sea". Games, including
bobbing for apples, were
also played. Thank you to
Linda Dixon for making
toffee apples for all the
Cubs.

Brownies
The 1st Vanastra
Brownies held their
Hallowe'en party on
October 28. The girls
were dressed in a variety
of costumesand' were
judged in three
categories: scariest.
first, Shelly Bonte-Gelok;
second, Kim Dixon;
prettiest, Jennifer
Poll,ck, Laura Fowlie;
most original, Kathy
Stone, and Sandy and
Susan Ryan tied. The
Brownies would like to
thank Cindy Connolly and
Debbie Dinsmore for
choosing the winners.
The Brownies were
accompanied by a
Zombie (alias Karen Ann
Gonie, a clown - Theresa
Morrison and . a
cheerleader, . Joann
Bernard to the Day Care
Room to show the day
nursery children their
costumes. These three
Guiders have been at-
tending the Brownie
meetings and 'helping
with the Tweenies. The
leaders want to thank
these girls for their help.
For the next few weeks,
the Brownies will be
working on things for the
bazaar. There will be no
Brownie meeting on Nov.
11 as it is a holiday.
Pathfinders
The Pathfinders i vited
the Guides to join em
for .their Hallow 'en
party and the winner of
the most unusual
costume went to Teresa
Morrison, the most
original went to Mary
Mellow and the most
scary went to Karen -Ann
Gonie.
The Pathfinders made
a haunted house and
everyone had to' go
through it. There was
also apple bobbing, skits
and snacks of hot
chocolate and squares.
Church news
Come Alive will start
on Nov. 4 for girls ages 5-
13 and boys ages 5-8 from
7:30-8:30 p.m. The older
boys ages 9-13 did not
meet this week yet but
the week following and
will meet on Thursdays.
