Recreation Centre on Saturday, Nov. 22 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Anyone wishing to put up • a table contact Rhonda Bjerg at 482-9596.* Next Youth 'Activity Night Is Friday, Nov. 14 from 7-10 p.m. Tickets are now on sale for the 'social tea to be held on Saturday, Dec. 13 at the Vanastra Rec. Centre from 2-4 p.m. Admission is for 16 years and over only. Tickets are available from any i,joness member or atjhe Vanastra Factory Outlet. There will be NO tickets at the door. Guest speaker will be the famous clairvoyant, Vera McNichol. Recreation Centre On Monday, October 27 the second Multiple Sclerosis meeting took place at the centre. The attendance was small but the weather was not good and this may account for it. Again, we are looking for people to participate in a crafts program on Thursday night from 8:30 - 10 p.m. It has been decided the program will take the shape of a "do your own thing" session. That is to •say that you will doyour own craft which you will choose at random. Along with .the aid of an instructor, you can show what you know and learn from others in the class. For, in- formation'. . phone the centre at 482-3544. Anyone between the ages of 8 and 16 interested in forming a ball hockey league please contact Rick Fortune at the centre. If enough are interested teams will be chosen and a league will be formed and a schedule made up. Two films were also shown: "Legend of Johnny Appleseed" and "2,000 Leagues Under the Sea". Games, including bobbing for apples, were also played. Thank you to Linda Dixon for making toffee apples for all the Cubs. Investment will be Monday. November • 10 at the Recreation Centre Brownies The 1st Vanastra Brownies held their Hallowe'en party on October 28. The girls were dressed in a variety of costumesand' were judged in three categories: scariest. first, Shelly Bonte-Gelok; second, Kim Dixon; prettiest, Jennifer Poll,ck, Laura Fowlie; most original, Kathy Stone, and Sandy and Susan Ryan tied. The Brownies would like to thank Cindy Connolly and Debbie Dinsmore for choosing the winners. The Brownies were accompanied by a Zombie (alias Karen Ann Gonie, a clown - Theresa Morrison and . a cheerleader, . Joann Bernard to the Day Care Room to show the day nursery children their costumes. These three Guiders have been at- tending the Brownie meetings and 'helping with the Tweenies. The leaders want to thank these girls for their help. For the next few weeks, the Brownies will be working on things for the bazaar. There will be no Brownie meeting on Nov. 11 as it is a holiday. Pathfinders The Pathfinders i vited the Guides to join em for .their Hallow 'en party and the winner of the most unusual costume went to Teresa Morrison, the most original went to Mary Mellow and the most scary went to Karen -Ann Gonie. The Pathfinders made a haunted house and everyone had to' go through it. There was also apple bobbing, skits and snacks of hot chocolate and squares. Nursery. school The children and moms arrived in a'wide range of costumes for the nursery school Hallowe'en party on Thursday, October 30. We had two special guests on hand to judge our costumes -.
