Drearnburger Dilemma hits students
Have you ever had a
nightmare ,that there was
a "Dreamburger
Dilemma"? Well if you
haven't, it's almost like a
depression. What would
you do if all the ham-
burger meat in Canada
was stolen?
Well three talented
performers from Toronto
put on a play in Clinton
Varna residents
welcome -new family
By Mary Chessell
The people of -the Varna
communitywould like to
extend a warm welcome
to Hary and Joyce
Atchison and their little
boy, Neil. They' moved
into the former Johnston
house, which they pur-
chased from the Reids,
last weekend.
Louis and Beatrice
Taylor enjoyed a visit
with Rev. Alex and
Margaret Taylor of
Beamsville a week ago
Saturday. They found
them both in apparent
good health, and planning
to leave for their winter
sojourn in 'Florida later
this month.
Church news
New Psalm books in the
modern translation and
'the new carpet, both of
which were provided for
the church by the UCW,
were dedicated on
Sunday, with Eleanor
McAsh representing the
UCW.
A panel on Church and
Society: styles of in-
teraction was presented
in place of the regular
sermon on Sunday. Panel
members, along with
Rev. Wilena Brown, were
Bernice Reid, Jim
Kirkton and Mary-
Chessell, with Ivan
McClymont absent with a
bout of 'flu. In Goshen,
the panel consisted of
Linda Linfield, Anson
McKinley, Norene
Hayter and Margaret
Elliott.
Next Sunday, a
Remembrance Day
service will be held, with r
a short service at the
Cenotaph following
church. Children will go
directly to the Sunday
School rooms at 10:15.
The November meeting
of the UCW will be held
tonight, Thursday. The
new- slate of officers will
be introduced, and there
will be a filmstrip on the
study "Mutuality in
Mission."
Public School on Nov. 3.
The play, "Drearnburger
Dilemma" explained
what would. happen and
that fruits, vegetables,
breads and cereals and
dairy products are just as
important.
Fresh Daily was the
detective who stopped the
villain with her faithful
robot companion Icebox.
Count Dreamburger, the
mastermind behind
stealing all the ham-
burger meat, loved
hamburgers. Music and
special effects were quite
good. The names of these
professional actors I do
not know.
Party
The school had an
afternoon Hallowe'en
party October 31 for the
children from grades 2-5.
Everything from ghosts
to devils loaded the gym
and had their costumes
judged.
All of the children
joined in a candy
scramble and then
watched a movie. The
student council arranged
all of the festivities.
