This was the last meeting for the project. by Linda Raithby Jury trial set for Bayfielder Former Bayfield councillor Milton Van Patter elected trial by judge and jury Monday when - he _ appeared in provincial court in Goderich on 10 charges of fraud involving about $100,000. Van Patter, a 58 -year- old real estate agent, is to appear again in court April 23 for a preliminary hearing on the . charges which involve claims of unpaid loans from Bayfield and area residents. He was arrested Aug. 11 following three weeks of investigation by Det. - Sgt. D. A. Ormsby of the OPP anti -rackets squad in Toronto. The accused resigned from Bayfield council after three years' service about a week before he was charged. The charges formally read in court on ay allege that Van Patter defrauded : + Doris Hunter of $4,000 on Nov. 20, 1978. + Francis Burch of $10,000 on Jan. 10, 1979. + Ed Oddleifson of $14,000 on Feb. 12, 1979. -f- Rae Fraser of $8,000 on May 11, 1979. + Ross Middleton of $8,000 on May 15, 1979, and a Further $17,000 on July 31 of that year. + James Garrett of $15,000 on Oct. 16, 1979. + Margaret Clift of $20,000 on Nov. 29, 1979. + Myrtle Robinson of $2,000 on Jan. 21, 1980. + William Armstrong of $3,466.30 on May 9, "9$0.
