There will be a tour- nament ' head at Brucefield in October 7 and we hope to par- ticipate against all other schools. Cross-country All cross-country members are keeping up at their jogging at Hullett. Thursday mornings ana Fridays at noon. The band is composed of flutes, clarinets, trum- pets, drums,,- saxophones, tubas, trombones, French horns, . and baritones. Industrial Arts and Family Studies This' year Grade 7 and 8 classes are going to Industrial Arts and Family Studies. Grads sevens leave on Tuesdays at 10 :1 5 .• and return at 12:30. When the Grade sevens return the Grade eights leave and then return. at 3:30. The classes started on the first day of school. Scott spoke to tiye children about neighbors with the story of the Good Samaritan and the junior teachers were June Fothergill, Joan Shepherd and Rosie Johnston. The choir sang a special number with Marjorie Duizer taking the solo part. The choir director was Barbara Bosman and Louise McGregor was the organist. finers, On October 9, a leaders' school in crewel embroidery will be held at the Wesley -Willis Church in Clinton and Marjorie Duizer and. Margaret Anderson were appointed the leaders. A thank -you card was read from Bob Burns and the WI group agreed to start euchre parties on October 24. Admission will be $1 and the ladies will supply lunch. It was decided • to donate $500 to the Lions Club project and Mrs. Buchanan thanked Mrs. Anderson, for the trip to the Huron Country Playhouse. She also thanked members for the letters, cards and flowers she received while she was a patient in University Hospital. Helen Lawson reported that historical meetings will be held in the fall. Barbara Bosman and Mrs. Duizer led in a sing- song and Mrs. Anderson introduced the guest speaker, Lucille Forsythe of RR 1, Londesboro, who gave,ran interesting ad- dress on communications and was thanked and presented with a gift by Doreen.QQarter. June Fothergill gave several readings for the program and Mrs. Bosman and Mrs. Duizer sang a special duet, accompanied by Mrs. Allen on the piano. A bake sale was held by half of the members and was organized by_ Jessie Tebbutt 'and Annie Vincent. Lunch was served by Isabel Colson, Elma Jewitt, Ramona Jamieson and Addie Hunking. Margaret Good gave the treasurer's report and a $1,000 donation was made to the ' Board . of Stewards. Londesboro will be holding their Thankof- fering on October 5. The Burns UCW, Walton, Ontario Street, Welsey- Willis and Auburn groups have been invited to attend. Alice Davidson and Joan Whyte will be in charge of lunch. White Gift Sunday will take place on November 30 and Mrs. Hulley will set-up the mitten tree by November 1. Knitting will be sent to Mrs. Wynn Homuth in' ,Clinton and will be given to needy familiein the area.
