Family opens dream restaurant
By Rhea Hamilton
A life long dream,is
now a family operatin.
Bev and Helen Wallace
opened °a new restaurant
in Londesboro last week
and are gearing up for
their grand opening this
weekend.
The White Rose, for-
merly the Country Kit-
chen. operated by Brad -
and Jean Kennedy, has
adapted well to the new
faces behind the counter
and the first few days in
operation have been busy
ones.
Recently the Wallaces
celebrated their 25th
anniversary and rather
than retire from the 100
acre farm they have
worked for the past 19
years, they have started
up this new venture.
Helen has worked in
restaurants in . the area
and has dreamed of
opening her own spot.
Her husband Bev once
managed the White Rose
garage in Blyth that used
to stand where the
parking lot is now. Now
he manages the new gas
pumps out front of the
restaurant. Daughters
Debbie, 22, Nancy, 19,
and Susan, 18, all help out
and the youngest
Wallace, Mark, 12, helps
his dad at the pumps.
Bev has in the past
besides cash cropping,
and managing a layer
operation, been busy .
getting his pilot's licence
and flying all over the
area. Now he has taken
up- sailing. Helen has
been equally busy and,
outside of her family and
work, she bowls every
week with- the Lon-
desboro ladies.
