regarding the formation
of the committee to held
with the furnishing of the
new -township hall.
The next meeting was
set for October 2 and
Everett and Hazel
Mcllwain will be in.
charge ,of the en-
tertainment and lunch.
For the September
meeting's program, John
Deeves introduced Same
Wain and Ed Stile, who
played some toe -tapping
tunes with Sam on his
beef bones and Ed at the
piano. Ed also led the
group in a sing -a -long.
Mr. Mcllwain thanked
the duo for their musical
treat and John Deeves
gave a reading before
lunch was served by Jean
Perdue.

Holmesville Public
School this•year includes

Mr. Blackwell is in
charge of music. The
principal of the school is
Mr. Ron McKay.
On October 15 the
school will be par-
ticipating in a cross,
country run in the
Goderich area. Three
'parents volunteers are
needed to held on that
day. Their job. will be to
stand . along the course
and make sure the
runners are following it
correctly. This will be an
all-tlay event and the rain
date has been set for
October 17.

On October 6,7 and 8,
the grade 8 class will be
involved in an outdoor
education study at Camp
Sylvan. More details will
be coming on this.
The school will hold an
open house on September
25 from 7:30 to 9 pm. This
will be an opportunity for
parents and teachers to
get better acquainted. -
'Once again, Mrs.
Spittal's class will be
selling • snacks on
Fridays. Peanuts, sun-
flower seeds, potato chips
and other "munchies"
will be available for 25
cents. Soft drinks and
juices will be sold for 35
cents each.
A Professional
Development Day will be
held on September 26 and
there will be no school for
pupils on this learning
day for teaohers.
At the diamond
The Goderich Township
midget boys have lost the
league cup to Westfield.
In the final playoff game
Westfield took the
championship.
But the local team
played exceptionally well
this year and .were
coached by Bill Harris
and Darrell Abbott who
both did an excellent job
with the young team.
The Goderich township
midget girls finish the
season off this,week when
they meet Varna for the
cup.
People report
Ross and Betty Feagan
attended the Ewart -
Stewart wedding at All
Saints Anglican Church
in London and spent the
weekend with Mr. and
Mrs. Jim Durnin. They
also visited with Mr. and
Mrs. Brian Durnin in
London.
Mr. and Mrs. Jim
Curran on Clinton spent a'
week at Ross and Betty
Feagan's chalet.
Goderich Township's
Enterprising Senior will
meet on Thursday,
October 2 at 8 pm in the
Holm esvill church.
