Sol Gerofsky of the
Clinton Gerrard's store
won't be receiving any
special parking.
privileges from council.
Mr. Gerofsky wrote
council to say that he had
received several parking
tickets in the summer. He
explained that these
shouldn't have been
issued since he was given
special permission by a
previous council to park
his car on main street
while loading and
unloading clothes for
Gerrard's. According to
Mr. Gerofsky, his car is
moved when the mer-
chandise had been
transferred.
Clerk Cam Proctor
explained to council that
Angie Arts, the summer
bylaw enforcement of-
ficer, had ticketed Mr.
Gerofsky's car and she
had reported that the
'vehicle was locked and
was not in use for loading
or unloading clothes.
Council refused to
cancel Mr. Gerofsky's
tickets or give him
special rights. They hoted
that the Clinton Police do
not issue tickets when
merchants are loading or
unloading.
Reeve Royce Ma' aulay
commented, "I have no
objection to the
unloading, but we thought
'that he (Mr. Gerofsky)
was over -extending and
abusing this privilege.
Subsequently the tickets
were issued."
