People and places „ An enjoyable holiday was enjoyed recently by Alvin and Barb Betties when they visited with Gordon and Betty Scribbons at their cottage at Long Point. They also visited with friends at Midland. The Holmesville United Church will be resuming services after the holidays on September 7 with a 9:45 am service and Sunday School. Play ball e Goderlch fiowns-Nip this week at A 110, pee wee boys,played their second play-off game against Londesboro and lost. This eliminated then from further action. They met the Clinton pee wee girls and managed a win to the end of the season. The Goderich Township squirt girls played Varna in their first game of the play-offs and won, however they are minus their catcher, Shelley Crawford for the rest of the season. Shelley was sliding.. -:::into third when the belt buckle that holds thebase caught her leg. She received a deep gash in her leg over two inches long and required two sets of stitches to close it. The Goderich Township midget boys' played Londesboro in the semi- 'nals-and-wan. The Holmesville slo- pitch team played the Clinton Old. Timers on Thursday night and lost. They played Benmiller ForestRrs'on Friday night andalsolost that game. Remember this Thursday night the Clinton Old Timers come up against Porter's Hill at 9pm at the new Holmesville diamond. The Clinton team is pretty hot, having- won their first game of the year against Holmesvile, so they expect to givr the Porter's Hill lads a tough time.
