All sizes, colors and shapes of cats, dogs, rabbits, hamsters, guinea pigs and
even a Pet 'Rock turned out for Saturdays pet show at the Vanastra Country
Fair. In the most unusual pet class the winners included, left to right, Alison
'Jeacock of Vanastra with her first place ,winning hamster; Dawn Riley of
Kinburn with her third place rabbits and Michelle Govier of Vanastra with her
second place guinea pig. In the cat contest, first place went to Jennifer
Plumsteel and Mork; second went to Theresa Bezzo and Patches of Clinton and
Shelley Bonte-Gelok and Cuddles from Vanastra came third. JoAnn Bernard
and her dog Carmel, took first place in the dog contest. Ronnie Ferguson and
Pebbles came second and Rod Golding and Ab,by were third. Danny Riley and
his pup Spike took fourth place. In the big dog class, Brian Thomas and his
Irish Setter, Max, came first and Colin Thomas and Brandy were second. Glen
Cain and Nieka came .third and Mary Mellon and Rebel took fourth prize.
