Save:Program proves its worth
At their April meeting,
the Auxiliary to the
Clinton. Public Hospital
learned that the Heart
Save Program at the
hospital has, proven its
value and success.
President Dawna
Westlake commended
Auxiliary member Joyce
Chilton of Bayfield for
her quick action when a
friend was in distress.
Mrs: Chilton was able to
restore her breathing
while others 'present
called the doctor, fire
department, ambulance
and the Clinton hospital's
emergency department
was alerted.
M: s. Chilton directed a
specific word of thanks to
Jean Cox and Mrs.
Hodgins from the
emergency department
for the refreshing in-
formation passed onto
the, members at a recent
meeting. Mrs. Chilton
said she felt this in-
formation was directly
'responsible for the
confidence she felt in
herself that resulted in
her fast response. The
value of the Heart Save
Program was surely
proven.
Mrs. Cox, director of
nursing, thanked the
ladies for the second
Survival Pak donated by
the Auxiliary and said
that -36 members had
passed the Basic Life
Support Program. As
well, the Heart Save
Program, a' four hour
course, will be offered to
the Clinton Fire
Department in May.
In other business, Mrs;
Westlake opened the
Meeting and Margaret
Coventry gave the
auxiliary prayer and a
reading. The minutes of
the March 'meeting and
the April 1 executive
meeting were read by
Joyce Hilderly. The next
