Monday. In London.
Woonton was a

that faith in your own
ability is essential.

Township of Tuckersmith
was presented and for

to the next meeting to be
sold at the district annual

Safe landing
LISTOWEL - It was
fortunate for a local pilot
that a farmer had been
out spreading manure.
Mary Fretz of Listowel
was flying his Cessna 182
back from North Bay
when he attempted to
land the plane at the
Johnston Airstrip near
Atwood.
Coming in on a night
landing, the pilot
discovered that the lights
on the runway where off
and icing conditions
forced him to make an
emergency landing in a
field adjacent to the
runway.
Frozen manure on the
field allowed the plane to
ruake a safe landing. Mr.
Fretz's wife explained
that if the plane had
landed on the runway it
would hve flipped over in
the two feet of snow that
covered the landing strip.
