It was an exciting finish
in the Bantam division, of
the Seaforth Junior Golf
Invitation.
Two youngsters,
neither one much bigger
than the bags they
carried, headed down the
first fairway in,a sudden
death playoff. A small
crowd of. spectators
followed, but th6 playoff
ended quickly '.‘Todd Doig
took a seyen on the first
holeand. went down in
defeat to Jerry Wright.
Both boys 'are from
Seaforth and both are 13
years old. Jerry is the son.
of Mr. and Mrs. Ken
Wright and Todd is the
son of Mr. and Mrs. Ken
Doig.
The Bantams had been
the first golfers off the tee
in the morning and also
first in the clubhouse
when finished. As a result
both 'Jerry and Todd were
well aware that they
would be heading back
out in an hour or so. By
then the Juvenile and
Junior titles had been
decided, but this extra bit
of drama added an
element of the "big time”
Women's
soccer news
Last Sunday, the
Clinton Women's Soccer
team was defeated by the
Sarnia Jrs. by a score of \
3-0.
It wasn't until Sarnia
scored their second goal,
early in the first half, that
the Clinton team came
alive. Although they were
somewhat intimidated by
Sarnia's strong defensive
line and agressive
playing, the Clinton
team, with excellent goal
thnding by goalie Donna
Lawson was able to
prevent Sarnia from
scoring again–until -the
second half.
Sarnia's third goal of
the game was scored on a
penalty shot, which
deflected off the
crossbar,into the net.

barbecue .with plenty of
salads prepared by the

of the high winds and
inexperienced chefs the
barbecue was a great
success and everyone
enjoyed the food.
