Morning Prayer was
held in St. Janes'
Anglican 'Church on
• Sunday morning. Audrey
Middleton read the lesion
and Vera Miller was the
organist for the service.
Stewart Middleton
received the offering and -
Rev. William Bennett
was in charde of the
tervice. •
The annual - Galilean
Service and picnic is to be
held on August 12 at
Stewart- Middleton's
park. The Huron Church
Camp will be in at-
tendance and will lead in
the music and Father
Blair Dixon will preach
..._the sermon. Everyone is
welcome to attend and
are asked to bring a
picnic basket, dishes and
cutlery. Drinks will be
provided. -'

Delores Dutot on the
weekend were Delores: -
sister, Mary Atwood of
Detroit, and Ken and
Lynda Dutot and Ivan of
London.
Joan and Penny. Riley
of -Kitchener are spending
a few days with Joan'st
parents, Keith and Vera
Miller.
Congratulations are in
order for Helen Hartma,n,
who was named as an
Ontario Scholar, with an
average of 9.0.7 per cent in
her, grade 13 subjects
studied at Central Huron
Secondary School in
Clinton.
Edward and Blanche
Deeves spent the
weekend in London,
visiting Blanche's sister
and family, Mr. and Mrs.
Charles Ellis.
Visiting in the area and
staying in Grand Bend is
an old resident of
Goderich Townsip Mrs.
...:-.Yvonne Hendricks. Mrs.
Hendricks, along with her
husband and three sons
stopped in on Monday for
-a visit at the Deeves'
place. The Hendricks now
live in Consecon, Ontario.
Foresters give
cash
to Cancer
A cheque for $126,500
was presented - to the
Canadian Cancer Society
by Gilbert E. Short„
President of the
Canadian Foresters Life
Insurance Society,
Brantford. Dr. Ruth
Alison, President of the
Canadian Cancer Society,
received the cheque, the
largest single donation
ever presented to the
Cancer Society at the
recent national con-
vention of the Canadian
Foresters Life Insurance
Society in London,
Ontario.
This gift, made up of
individual contributions
from the membership of
the Canadian Foresters
Life Insurance Society,
brings the total of cancer
research donations •by
Canadian Foresters frbm
across Canada .to more
than $800,000.
Fire destroys
area barn
A fire on July 16
destroyed a barn owned
by McKinley hatcheries.
Mrs. Anson McKinley
said the, metal dad barn
.which housed over .150
cattle was struck by
lightning around 9 p.m:
Fite departments from
.Zurich and Brucefield
responded to the call but
could not save the $50,000
structure.
Mrs. McKinley said
neighbors led the cattle
out of the barn with all
but three head being
located.
Plans have been made
to rel3uild the barn she
